1) Hey Bob if you are so confident this law is constitutional, why do you think there’s a long road ahead? Surely the courts will agree with you and immediately uphold the law right?? /s

2) Doesn’t the state wholly fund the defense of these laws? Kind of scummy to fundraiser like this, linking fundraising to these lawsuits.

The North Shore politicians who supported this law live in some pretty fancy real estate. Maybe they can downsize and kick in a few million to the cause.

I should have indicated sarcasm when I asked my question about why this guy was trying to squeeze money.

Yes, it sounds like a typical sleazy, opportunistic politician.

Sure would be a shame if some 2a lawyers used it to impeach his character and cast his intentions for rushing the bill in a poor light.

It's good to know how deep the sleaze runs with our special "elected Representative".  Bob Morgan can send out fundraising letters - but has never once replied to the polite comments and questions I posted to his website contact page or official state email address. Or is this a dodge to hide the fact his "working group" receives funds from Pritzker and/or Bloomberg? Get lost, Bob Morgan.

Haven't you bought his book, "Tyranny for Fun and Profit?"

Absolute sleazebag.  First he's the whacky weed "czar," then he joins the club of leftwing control freaks conniving to stomp on our constitutionally protected rights.  This clown is allegedly an attorney, yet calls this trash "constitutional."  So, he's either an incompetent idiot, or a sleazy liar.

Everyone should call his office and ask how this money will be used to defend the current bill / law. I know, maybe he's trying to raise a few bucks to hire a good lawyer instead of Commie "back to back to back losing streak" Raoul.

Even better Todd should reply to Bob Morgan and suggest to help by organizing a gun raffle fundraiser, and further suggest the FFLs he represents might be willing to contribute to the prize proceeds.

I'm sure Bob would appreciate any help he can get...

Hi, there EMMANUEL!

#1 The NRA isn't behind going after individual "assault" weapon bans, that you labelled as "comprehensive" - that insurance salesmenship really shows!

#2 Your colleagues and you NEVER reviewed anything. In fact, any rational person would report you for a UPL - given that you're inferring a relationship between the idiot who

donates money to your slush fund and your own personal opinion

#3 Call Sheriffs radical is the most disgusting thing I've seen from the gun control movement - if we can have undocumented wage slaves in hotels, we can have sheriffs decide whether or not to enforce the law. Most people, including gun rights supporters - learned their government doesn't care and that law is simply a bunch of people agreeing to something, we learned how to deal with that when people like you picked winners and losers with "essential" and "non essential". We'll never forget the despicable capriciousness of progressive left-wing, grape-juice drinkers like you

#4 Assuming the DuPage County Sheriff was just playing around, that still means only FOUR counties in Illinois will uphold and enforce a law, that is not only unconstitutional, but wasn't even passed within the 1970 Constitutional procedures

#5 It's over. You can't ban on cosmetic, capacity or even make/model. You and your rich, grape-juice drinking progressive friends will turn to other methods to attempt at keeping people helpless and dependent on said grape-juice drinking progressives. Nobody cares. You guys lost.

Grape juice?  Is that what they're drinking out of those bedpans?

I hate to rain on the BM is a slimeball politician thread, but the dude is getting a subpoena through the DeVore lawsuit.  He is going to want to hire council.
