mauserme Posted March 4, 2016 at 12:38 AM Posted March 4, 2016 at 12:38 AM . Call to Action Witness Slips Needed Witness Slip Instructions This week we ask you to voice your opposition to a Senate bill designed to make firearms that are part of an estate more difficult to transfer. Despite Illinois already having Universal Background Checks, SB2856 Probate Firearm Transfer Death will require the administrator of an estate to also prove to the court that the intended recipient of firearms is not prohibited under Federal and State Law. The bill offers no accepted methods of proof but, if not proved to the court's satisfaction within an unspecified period of time, "the firearm shall be disposed of in a manner prescribed by the court" including possible confiscation and destruction. This bill is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, March 8, at 3:00 P.M. Please log on to the ILGA Dashboard or Create a New Account. Complete the required fields, including "OPPONENT" in Section III - Position. Oppose SB2856 Probate Firearm Transfer Death - OPPONENT Witness slips may be tracked here. .

transplant Posted March 4, 2016 at 01:07 AM Posted March 4, 2016 at 01:07 AM This bill improperly shifts the burden of proof from the state - to prove the recipient is disqualified, to the recipient - to prove he is qualified.
