r4ndy Posted May 12, 2019 at 03:08 PM Posted May 12, 2019 at 03:08 PM So In the last month or so Ascension Cemetery in Lake County put up no Beretta’s signs. I run in to very few of these up here, but I can’t believe the a cemetery did this. Time to write a letter and explain we won’t be getting plots near family there.

So now the catlickers have taken a poll of their customers underground here? And they had to falsify the results of that.
raymond963 Posted May 12, 2019 at 03:55 PM Posted May 12, 2019 at 03:55 PM Wonder what the cemetery residents are afraid of....
lockman Posted May 12, 2019 at 04:28 PM Posted May 12, 2019 at 04:28 PM I thought the dead voting their wishes was a Cook County thing? ^ this ***
GTX63 Posted May 12, 2019 at 08:12 PM Posted May 12, 2019 at 08:12 PM I tried to find the number of persons killed by any means in cemeteries and as far as I know, there are no statistics. Most are dead before they arrive.
ilphil Posted May 12, 2019 at 08:33 PM Posted May 12, 2019 at 08:33 PM The cemetery is owned by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Since Cardinal Cupich has already said he wants guns banned from church property this doesn't surprise me in the least. That said, not all churches in the Archdiocese are posted.
Mr. Fife Posted May 12, 2019 at 08:35 PM Posted May 12, 2019 at 08:35 PM Dig them up and move to a sanctuary county

I'm sure the sign will stop the street gangs who use the occasion of funerals to assassinate their rivals. And if any of them dare to disobey the sign, I'm sure Kimmy will bring the full weight and force of the law down upon them like a ton of bricks !
Yas Posted May 13, 2019 at 01:36 AM Posted May 13, 2019 at 01:36 AM Theres been issues with rival gangs armed and shooting up rivals on Chicagos south side. Funeral parlors and cemetery's.
Euler Posted May 13, 2019 at 02:11 AM Posted May 13, 2019 at 02:11 AM Those signs should eliminate all those gang shootings, then, because gangs obey postings.
RandyP Posted May 13, 2019 at 12:17 PM Posted May 13, 2019 at 12:17 PM As a former funeral director/embalmer (really) I can assure you that cemeteries are fenced in because folks are just dying to get in.

vito Posted May 13, 2019 at 02:39 PM Posted May 13, 2019 at 02:39 PM Some business owners want their environment to be safe. Some want the appearance of safety only. For the fools that think signs stop criminal behavior, a no guns sign makes them "feel" safer.

Cemeteries had fences around them to keep the dead from escaping and wandering the countryside.
DonP Posted May 13, 2019 at 05:12 PM Posted May 13, 2019 at 05:12 PM Not just gang shootings. On the South Side in Holy Sepulcher, Chapel Hill and other cemeteries along 111th street, there has been a string of strong arm robberies. One of my father's friends, 90+ years old was pushed down and robbed visiting his wife's grave. Older folks go to visit their wives, husbands, family etc., and the scum see them as easy pickings. Older folks, can't run or move too well, distracted by their grief. Purses, wallets, watches and jewelry are taken and they get slapped around.
Euler Posted May 13, 2019 at 05:44 PM Posted May 13, 2019 at 05:44 PM Not just gang shootings. ... Older folks go to visit their wives, husbands, family etc., and the scum see them as easy pickings. ... Well, that reminds me of the Delaware State Supreme Court case in 2017, involving the state DNR prohibiting guns in state parks, so criminals would raid campgrounds knowing the campers were unarmed. Washington Post I'm pretty sure there was a thread on it here, but I can't find it atm. The original news article I saw back then also mentioned that the judges asked the AG if the state had any evidence that the firearm prohibition caused any criminals to put aside their guns and enter the park unarmed. Obviously the state had no response. FWIW, when Delaware revised the law to allow only LEOs and concealed carriers to carry, but still not in campgrounds, where firearms continued to be prohibited, the state got sued again and lost again. WHYY If the church thinks it can justify posting the cemetery to protect mourners from criminals, I'd love to see a similar case here. In the meantime, however, I'd go with the non-compliance of the sign.
spec5 Posted May 13, 2019 at 06:35 PM Posted May 13, 2019 at 06:35 PM Another case where the anti's are dead wrong.
r4ndy Posted May 13, 2019 at 10:25 PM Author Posted May 13, 2019 at 10:25 PM On the topic of theft at cemeteries my mom and aunt were attending a funeral and had there purses stolen out of the car while they were at the gravesite for the lowering of the casket - scum bags have no heart.
BobPistol Posted May 14, 2019 at 03:17 AM Posted May 14, 2019 at 03:17 AM We have to ban guns at cemeteries. They could shoot the dead people!
Birdhunter1 Posted May 14, 2019 at 05:52 PM Posted May 14, 2019 at 05:52 PM I'm so 'will not comply' I'll instruct all of my next of kin to bury me with my loaded Springfield, extra mags and all.
Bubbacs Posted May 15, 2019 at 12:13 AM Posted May 15, 2019 at 12:13 AM So, the cemetery is in fact (1 Large Parking Lot) so place in the glove box and carry on!It's what we do when some place is posted......
Dr Duke Posted May 20, 2019 at 09:21 PM Posted May 20, 2019 at 09:21 PM I will take their "No Guns" stance seriously when they disarm all the troops in the Vatican and all of the pope's body guards.

Now, now, don't confuse Cardinal Cupich with an actual faithful Catholic prelate. Cupich is not a faithful Catholic. He's a LWW. I suspect he's one of the 1,100 that Bella Dodd got in. I'd say about 90% of Catholic bishops allow guns on Church property.

But the sign might really stop that!
