So In the last month or so Ascension Cemetery in Lake County put up no Beretta’s signs.

I run in to very few of these up here, but I can’t believe the a cemetery did this. Time to write a letter and explain we won’t be getting plots near family there.

The democrats have been having the dead vote for them eternally. So now the catlickers have taken a poll of their customers underground here? And they had to falsify the results of that.

The cemetery is owned by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Since Cardinal Cupich has already said he wants guns banned from church property this doesn't surprise me in the least.

That said, not all churches in the Archdiocese are posted.

I tried to find the number of persons killed by any means in cemeteries and as far as I know, there are no statistics.

Most are dead before they arrive.

I'm sure the sign will stop the street gangs who use the occasion of funerals to assassinate their rivals. And if any of them dare to disobey the sign, I'm sure Kimmy will bring the full weight and force of the law down upon them like a ton of bricks !

Wrong county for Kim Foxx...

Some business owners want their environment to be safe. Some want the appearance of safety only. For the fools that think signs stop criminal behavior, a no guns sign makes them "feel" safer.

As a former funeral director/embalmer (really) I can assure you that cemeteries are fenced in because folks are just dying to get in.

Actually the opposite was true. Cemeteries had fences around them to keep the dead from escaping and wandering the countryside.

Not just gang shootings.

On the South Side in Holy Sepulcher, Chapel Hill and other cemeteries along 111th street, there has been a string of strong arm robberies. One of my father's friends, 90+ years old was pushed down and robbed visiting his wife's grave.

Older folks go to visit their wives, husbands, family etc., and the scum see them as easy pickings.

Older folks, can't run or move too well, distracted by their grief. Purses, wallets, watches and jewelry are taken and they get slapped around.

Well, that reminds me of the Delaware State Supreme Court case in 2017, involving the state DNR prohibiting guns in state parks, so criminals would raid campgrounds knowing the campers were unarmed.

Washington Post

I'm pretty sure there was a thread on it here, but I can't find it atm. The original news article I saw back then also mentioned that the judges asked the AG if the state had any evidence that the firearm prohibition caused any criminals to put aside their guns and enter the park unarmed. Obviously the state had no response.

FWIW, when Delaware revised the law to allow only LEOs and concealed carriers to carry, but still not in campgrounds, where firearms continued to be prohibited, the state got sued again and lost again.

WHYY

If the church thinks it can justify posting the cemetery to protect mourners from criminals, I'd love to see a similar case here. In the meantime, however, I'd go with the non-compliance of the sign.

Another case where the anti's are dead wrong.

On the topic of theft at cemeteries my mom and aunt were attending a funeral and had there purses stolen out of the car while they were at the gravesite for the lowering of the casket - scum bags have no heart.

I will take their "No Guns" stance seriously when they disarm all the troops in the Vatican and all of the pope's body guards.

Now, now, don't confuse Cardinal Cupich with an actual faithful Catholic prelate. Cupich is not a faithful Catholic. He's a LWW.

I suspect he's one of the 1,100 that Bella Dodd got in.

I'd say about 90% of Catholic bishops allow guns on Church property.

Laws are just a deterrents, taking out the rest of the gang at the Emergency Room, Wake, or Funereal is just good strategy.

But the sign might really stop that!
