mauserme Posted November 1, 2019 at 04:19 PM Posted November 1, 2019 at 04:19 PM News sources are reporting that Mr. Arroyo has tendered his resignation just as an investigative committee was to meet at 1:00 PM today. CapitolFax posted an image of his letter of resignation:
Jeffrey Posted November 1, 2019 at 04:26 PM Posted November 1, 2019 at 04:26 PM If I read correctly this morning, Joe Berrios' son is also tied into Arroyo's corruption. Gonna need more domino's...
Lou Posted November 1, 2019 at 04:32 PM Posted November 1, 2019 at 04:32 PM I had to chuckle at the way that letter is addressed:HONORABLE Michael Madigan.
Bitter Clinger Posted November 1, 2019 at 08:49 PM Posted November 1, 2019 at 08:49 PM I had to chuckle at the way that letter is addressed:HONORABLE Michael Madigan. Yeah, it should have been the "Dishonorable Michael Madigan".Must have been a typo.
Bubbacs Posted November 1, 2019 at 10:27 PM Posted November 1, 2019 at 10:27 PM Gotta love the politicians in Illinois....... I have done nothing wrong, and NO I will not step down.I will be vindicated in court, just ask my lawyer! “Soon there after” I am stepping down so that I won’t be a distraction to anyone.I’m still going to be cleared, but I’m leaving none the less!
Colt guy Posted November 2, 2019 at 07:16 AM Posted November 2, 2019 at 07:16 AM What a pompous jackass. Hey Louis. You are a crooked politician who lined your pockets on the back of your beloved 3rd district citizens. Lets hope you spend your golden years behind bars.
Chief Illiniwek Posted November 2, 2019 at 12:45 PM Posted November 2, 2019 at 12:45 PM What a pompous jackass. Hey Louis. You are a crooked politician who lined your pockets on the back of your beloved 3rd district citizens. Lets hope you spend your golden years behind bars. And, according to his letter, he wanted to save his colleagues "from having to take such a difficult vote at a time when you are all running for re-election". The speaker's comments don't make it sound like such a difficult vote. His words concerning the Special Investigative Committee..."While every circumstance will not require this process, the egregiousness of these particular allegations and the evidence demanded that every effort be taken to restore the public's trust." That quote was taken from the article in today's SJ-R. Like others have posted, here's hoping the line of dominoes is long, tumbles fast, and leads to number one.

Yas Posted November 2, 2019 at 06:11 PM Posted November 2, 2019 at 06:11 PM Note 2nd to last paragraph on his letter KEY word is Retirement He's not using the word resign
Flynn Posted November 2, 2019 at 07:20 PM Posted November 2, 2019 at 07:20 PM Note 2nd to last paragraph on his letter KEY word is Retirement He's not using the word resign Yep, taking his give or take $3,950/month or $47.4K a year pension, the only thing for us taxpayers to look forward to is him being convicted as upon conviction he loses his pension.
JTHunter Posted November 3, 2019 at 01:54 AM Posted November 3, 2019 at 01:54 AM I had to chuckle at the way that letter is addressed:HONORABLE Michael Madigan. Wouldn't he have been as accurate to just say "Dear Lurch" ??
Mr. Fife Posted November 3, 2019 at 04:08 PM Posted November 3, 2019 at 04:08 PM They were already going door to door yesterday collecting signatures for his replacement.
skinnyb82 Posted November 27, 2019 at 06:52 PM Posted November 27, 2019 at 06:52 PM Why isn't Kwame moving to strip him of his pension for criminal acts while serving in the legislature? Lisa used to do that stuff. Or some parsing of words in the law like what happened with Burge....or a local police Lt. who got popped for stealing coke out of evidence and was allowed to retire, keep his (colossal) pension even though he was stripped of his LE cert.
