ragsbo Posted April 6, 2021 at 08:36 PM Posted April 6, 2021 at 08:36 PM With the rulings they have been making (or refusing to make even more) it is disturbing. You can never tell what they will do.
lawman Posted April 6, 2021 at 11:45 PM Posted April 6, 2021 at 11:45 PM With the real threat of packing the court, perhaps they are waiting until after the mid term elections? With that said, Young v Hawaii is also making its way to the court. That would be a major case to overturn the may issue shenanigans and perhaps to even get rid of the permitting system altogether. (Holding breath . . . . )
Flynn Posted April 7, 2021 at 12:53 AM Posted April 7, 2021 at 12:53 AM With the real threat of packing the court. Personally I would not say that is an 'official' reason, but I would almost gurantee that is in the back of their minds. The Democrats have come out with no shame telling the Supreme Court and their voter base that they are willing to use their controll of Congress to pack the court and deliberately attempt to make it a Democratic "Yes Man!" branch of the government for there partisan agendas, that can't sit well with any of the Justices knowing they could become the political puppets of any Congress willing to pack the court for their partisan agendas now or in the future.
cope Posted April 7, 2021 at 01:06 AM Posted April 7, 2021 at 01:06 AM IMO Any justice who allows any outside thought of "what might happen" or public opinion to sway their thinking is unfit to sit on the bench...... period....... I dont care what political persuasion they are from. They have 1 job and 1 job only... determine if the constitution is being followed. So for 5 "conservative" justices to allow the threat of 'court packing' to keep them from hearing a case means we have 5 "conservative" justices who need to step down immediately.

yurimodin Posted April 8, 2021 at 08:54 PM Posted April 8, 2021 at 08:54 PM what's it matter, they couldn't even be bothered to hear a case on election fraud.
Buzzard Posted April 9, 2021 at 06:48 PM Posted April 9, 2021 at 06:48 PM Here's your answer, Molly! Biden creates commission to study potential Supreme Court expansion! https://news.yahoo.com/biden-creates-commission-study-potential-152239916.htmlDon't believe all the hype about the commission's members represent the full political spectrum and "is intended to study the arguments both in favor of and against the reforms proposed in these areas." Biden has not been truthful about any of his actions yet! Everything he has done has been crafted to radically transform America into a progressive, socialist eutopia!

Buzzard Posted April 10, 2021 at 02:45 AM Posted April 10, 2021 at 02:45 AM Wonder how much time he spends on the phone with Obama Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Are you sure he remembers Obama, let alone his phone number. He even forgot what office he was running for!! He's on video saying he was "proud to be running for Senate!" He's working completely off crib notes and the prompter.
Flynn Posted April 10, 2021 at 04:02 AM Posted April 10, 2021 at 04:02 AM Are you sure he remembers Obama, let alone his phone number. No one said he was the one actually dialing the phone to his handler. In fact I would guess he isn't allowed anywhere near a phone without a handler present, don't want him making random calls to random numbers.

chislinger Posted April 15, 2021 at 02:10 AM Posted April 15, 2021 at 02:10 AM Democrats will soon introduce a bill to add 4 new justices: https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/04/report-democrats-preparing-legislation-to-pack-supreme-court-adding-four-new-justices/ The sole purpose of adding justices, of course, is to add Democrat hacks to strip away our civil rights.
Rangerdeepv Posted April 15, 2021 at 12:53 PM Posted April 15, 2021 at 12:53 PM Don't think there will be much of a chance for packing courts but the pressure on the conservative dum0craps must be daunting. The decline of the SCOTUS has started.
seanc Posted April 15, 2021 at 03:35 PM Posted April 15, 2021 at 03:35 PM Who are these "conservative" democrats?
Rangerdeepv Posted April 15, 2021 at 04:04 PM Posted April 15, 2021 at 04:04 PM Who are these "conservative" democrats?Blue Dog(s) and a few others. They will sell their souls to get re-elected so it probably does not matter anymore. Manchin and Sinema seem to oppose court packing for now anyway. Had to turn off the news watching the ding-a-lings roll out the proposed bill................ I know there is no such thing as a conservative with a 'D' after their name anymore and the progressive left is running the table on all their wacky ideas but one can hope there is some semblance of decency or morals left in the swamp.
JTHunter Posted April 16, 2021 at 03:12 AM Posted April 16, 2021 at 03:12 AM If they want to turn the U.S. into another 3rd world country, then perhaps we should treat OUR politicians the same way they do in those countries.

Those are the only 2 I could think of that even come close. Manchin has proven to be a cardboard cutout "moderate". When it comes down to yea/nay, he knows where Schumer needs him to be. Sinema does seem to have more of a backbone, at least for her rookie year.
illinois_buckeye Posted April 16, 2021 at 06:41 PM Posted April 16, 2021 at 06:41 PM Thing with Manchin though, they push him too hard, I'm sure the republicans would give him deals to get him to change parties. Wouldn't the democrats get frosted if he ever decided to change parties on them and the republicans had a majority. Not saying that would happen, but wishful thinking. Truth be told, the democrats probably better not push him too much, he really holds a lot of power in washington if he plays his cards right.
mrmagloo Posted April 16, 2021 at 07:27 PM Posted April 16, 2021 at 07:27 PM Well, Manchin changing parties isn't going to happen, but he is certainly thoroughly enjoying his new found power. I see him leveraging that both ways to his advantage.
SiliconSorcerer Posted April 16, 2021 at 07:59 PM Posted April 16, 2021 at 07:59 PM How many Democrat Senator's with a Republican Governor?
lilguy Posted April 17, 2021 at 06:22 PM Posted April 17, 2021 at 06:22 PM SCOTUS follows societal changes on social issues. Abortion rights, gay marriage and the like. If nuts come out of the woodwork, gunning down multiples on a regular basis they may not be inclined to overrule some gun control legislation. The court cemented the 2 amendment by one vote, that did not give me a warm fuzzy feeling about them jumping in to save us every time. Don’t lose site of the fact that the State and Federal legislatures can do us more harm quickly than a court can be depended on to undo the damage in the long run.
