  1. in Culp v Raoul (2019), IIRC, Culp was qualified to teach the IL CCL, but becuase he was stationed here and was from another state could not get an IL CCL himself.
  2. In the last couple minutes of the video linked here: (starting at 4:20) https://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?/topic/85267-atf-director-asked-what-2nd-amendment-says/ The new ATF director was asked about the case, and indicated that both the ATF and DOJ were reviewing it. Justice may yet prevail.
  3. I also had no trouble viewing the video directly from its embedded display. Does rmart have this trouble with other embedded youtube vids, or when revisiting this page after a reload?

  5. Thanks for that, Lou. In the picture with Pfleger is his adopted son (I think) and Thom Mannard, former Executive Director of ICHV, Illinois Council against Handgun Violence. I remember several things about the series of SAFR events, correct me if I'm wrong. 1. City Hall is across the street from the Thompson Center Plaza that was rented. (The former downtown State of Illinois building containing the governor's Chicago Office.) I was told, and never confirmed, that the mayor's office overlooked the plaza. (Daley Jr at the time) 2. Everyone behaved at these events. 3. Molly B and mikew were key organizers. 4. The first SAFR was just after the landmark ruling in DC v Heller, and the filing in federal court of McDonald v Chicago. The McDonald plaintiffs and the attorneys were there 5. The SAFR III was just after SCOTUS ruled for Otis McDonald in McDonald v Chicago. 6. Temperatures reached 100F during the first event. 7. ISRA paid for bottled water for attendees (and passers-by). 8. Colleen Lawson asked me what to about Pfleger, I suggested that we offer them water as a humanitarian gesture, which of course he refused to accept in the 100F heat. 9. At one of the SAFR events, Ronald Holt was standing with Pfleger. (father of Blair Holt, for whom the Cook County Semi-auto Ban was renamed.) 10. Mark the Sign Guy was there. 11. Central Services provided a roll-around trash cart at my request, because gun owners don't litter. The Plaza was left cleaner than when it started for each event. 12. Ralph W Connor from CORE-Chicago (Congress Of Racial Equality), the Heartland Institute, and the narrator of the JPFO film "No Guns for Negroes" was active in this event but he died unexpectedly in March 2010, before the SCOTUS ruling.
  6. I should frame that. I remember the interaction with the very nice police sargent when I told him that we were going to march around city hall. "I don't suppose you have a permit for that, right?" The look on his face... Daley Jr was the mayor then if I recall.
  7. https://www.thecentersquare.com/illinois/article_f646e832-f72e-5db8-aba6-20be7579851d.html Ex-Dem Rep. Stoneback can’t sue gun control group, current Rep. Olickal over NRA smears An Illinois gun control activist group and a current Illinois Democratic state lawmaker appear poised to ultimately prevail over a former Democratic state representative who sued them for allegedly lying about her gun control positions amid a Democratic primary race. But the defendants can't use an Illinois state law forbidding politically motivated lawsuits to do so, a state appeals panel has ruled.
  8. It's about time. The poorly-conceived policy it replaced never stopped anyone with ill-intent.
  9. Advocacy groups should be able to send a link to their members that have accounts on ILGA. THAT made sense. What I had always wanted for well-tempered responses from members was sending a link that pre-filled "proponent" or "opponent"
  10. She got put through the legal system for something that would get you hardly noticed in other states, or an "attagirl." This thing dragged out for 9 years or so. for a constitutionally protected activity. Meanwhile, in this 9 years, was she under felony indictment? Could she have even made the decision to get a FOID?
  11. I was concerned it might be interpreted the other way around.
  12. while I'm sure there's a million and one questions comments and details, If I would no longer need a permission slip to carry, then I certainly no longer need one to own or possess. Thank you, TomKoz.

Vito, Did something change for you recently? Is this a gradual thing now becoming a complaint? Are you visiting the forum from your PC or phone? Speaking from personal experience, I now use a modest sized TV for my primary monitor, and I'm not going back.
