McCroskey Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:21 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:21 AM Please summarize. I can't even listen to him speak. It's just more garbage about how he's frustrated that "our society isn't willing to take some basic steps to see that guns don't get into the hands of people who can do damage". Another variation on the "we need common sense restrictions", in other words more laws that punish the law abiding and have no effect on criminals or psychopaths.
singlecoilpickup Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:33 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:33 AM He also says something to the effect of "we don't have a crazy people problem, we have a gun problem." That's very paraphrased, but he's again trying to insinuate that somehow force people to shoot other people.
CM_50BMG Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:50 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:50 AM heres your summary, he said "I respect gun rights..............................BUT" and thats when i turned it off
BIGDEESUL Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:53 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:53 AM Ha! Just the opposite. We have a crazy person problem, not a gun problem. The only gun problem is there's not enough of them!
defaultdotxbe Posted June 11, 2014 at 03:28 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 03:28 AM He also says something to the effect of "we don't have a crazy people problem, we have a gun problem." That's very paraphrased, but he's again trying to insinuate that somehow force people to shoot other people. He also says we don't have a monopoly on crazy people, but other countries don't have the shootings we do He fails to mention we don't have a monopoly on guns either, and yet many other countries have both guns and crazy people and few/no shootings

Blackbeard Posted June 11, 2014 at 03:54 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 03:54 AM They're not going to push for gun control in an election year. Not as long as they still think they can hold the Senate.

pomme333 Posted June 11, 2014 at 09:01 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 09:01 AM i think these shootings are caused by stress the government has put on all of us, in the form of high taxes, rules and regulations and the ilk. there is a tax on everything anymore and rules and regs on every thing too. ya cant throw a cig butt in the street?? what would our ancestors say about some of this stupid crap???
gLockedandLoaded Posted June 11, 2014 at 10:16 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 10:16 AM How about if we ask ourselves why young people in this country are in so much pain? You don't go on a rampage that you know will end in your death, unless you are in a lot of pain. Personally, I think a lot of it has to do with the education system, combined with the fact that we tell children how great they are and then they are never taught the difference between success and failure. Gun ownership has nothing to do with it. Just a thought.

GAS3987 Posted June 11, 2014 at 11:06 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 11:06 AM My friend's daughter, who is in early grade school, came home excited to tell him that she would be getting an award at a ceremony in a few days. His interest deflated when she also told him EVERYONE was getting an award. This is more of the "everyone wins, nobody is a loser" idea our educational system is establishing in youth.

karim18 Posted June 11, 2014 at 11:41 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 11:41 AM People fail to realize that while the gun community did buy a LOT of gear in 2012 / 2013, I am willing to wager we picked up a few MILLION new gun owners (I know quite a few). These people (new owners) now also have skin in the game (It's THEIR guns he wants too).

McCroskey Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:55 PM Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:55 PM Obama is a fraud and a liar. This is the guy who claimed to support net neutrality in one of his earliest campaign promises, supposedly was against special interests and big corporations influencing government. Then he goes and appoints Tom Wheeler to run the FCC (a top lobbyist for cable TV and broadcast associations). Wheeler was also campaign donor to Obama and so were Comcast and Verizon. Basically the fox watching the henhouse. Just like he's appointed Monsanto goons to posts in the Ag Dept and other govt agencies. Obama is just as much of a tool of the banksters and mega corps as the people he supposedly opposed in his campaigns. I can't wait until the next election so I can vote for a non duopolist.

Gun ownership has nothing to do with it. Just a thought. As a young person myself (26 years old) I'd say that the real issue is the breakdown of the family, along with good old fashioned bullying, societal rejection, and the like. When people are raised in dysfunctional or unloving homes, that can put them in a bad place emotionally because they'll start off life knowing rejection, isolation, etc. And if you add things like bullying, etc., that can definitely set someone off. And it looks like my college psychology classes are paying off!
