When they have a surplus they drop the fees. When they need more money to operate they will raise the fees. Utah BCI likes to operate a net $0 budget for ccw. I'm going to guess that the State of Utah isn't broke like Illinois either.
Marie Posted January 21, 2015 at 12:50 AM Share Posted January 21, 2015 at 12:50 AM Mailed my FL permit app around 12/15. I got it today. Their website says they're overwhelmed with apps and to allow the full 90 days, so I'm surprised I got it this quickly, even adding in Christmas & New Year's. Marie, you must be one of very few on here that got their IL permit before their FL permit. Congrats!
Marie Posted January 21, 2015 at 03:46 AM Share Posted January 21, 2015 at 03:46 AM Roady, I even had my IL CCL before I got my UT last spring. I have AZ and will be going to PA in the spring to get that one.
kwc Posted January 21, 2015 at 03:57 AM Share Posted January 21, 2015 at 03:57 AM Marie, since you already have IL, AZ, UT, and FL, the only additional state the PA LTCF will get you is PA itself. If you are making a special trip to get it, you might be better off waiting until you need to go there instead.
Marie Posted January 21, 2015 at 11:48 AM Share Posted January 21, 2015 at 11:48 AM I've got a lot of friends in PA. I'm going to combine a special trip with visiting friends in OH.
Trevis Posted February 10, 2015 at 10:17 PM Share Posted February 10, 2015 at 10:17 PM I just requested a packet from Arizona, and a fingerprint card from Florida. For a Texas trip, I'll probably concentrate on Arizona, since it's cheaper anyway.
papa Posted February 11, 2015 at 12:40 AM Share Posted February 11, 2015 at 12:40 AM I just got my renewal from Utah today. His office has some nice people to work with.

Dr Duke Posted April 21, 2015 at 06:51 AM Share Posted April 21, 2015 at 06:51 AM When you send a fingerprint card to FL or UT does anyone know what happens to it? Does it just get put in a filing cabinet or do they scan it in to CODIS? I don't want to sound too paranoid but I fear gun owners fingerprints could be used against them. If someone somewhere with similar fingerprints commits a crime you could get arrested for it. You probably could hire a fingerprint expert to clear your name but how much would that cost and how long would you have to wait in jail for that to happen. So far I have never been fingerprinted and I would kind of like to keep it that way.

bw200 Posted June 29, 2015 at 06:31 PM Share Posted June 29, 2015 at 06:31 PM I remember when I applied and got a Utah, there was a section of the application that asked for a non resident to include a copy of your home state license. I believe other states asked for this cause they were missing out on the application fee $$$ ... I looked online and found errors on the Utah page links trying to open the applications. I did see that one month prior they would send you a letter. but I coudnt open them.... ... However... at the time I applied something about Illinois made it that they didn't require it on mine. I applied about a month after Illinois started to accept applications for Illinois... So I believe as of a year and almost a half ago... you didn't. I remember being told it was because of the lack of reciprocity. give them a call .. Their office isn't as messed up as Illinois is.

No, because there is no recognition agreement between Utah and Illinois. If Illinois recognized Utah's permit the answer would be yes.

RoadyRunner Posted June 30, 2015 at 02:20 AM Share Posted June 30, 2015 at 02:20 AM Nope. Utah only requires you get your resident states license first if Utah recognizes it.
BShawn Posted August 1, 2015 at 06:07 PM Share Posted August 1, 2015 at 06:07 PM Okay so the current "valid" licenses/permits I have are IL and PA (I even drove to PA to renew mine when they stopped doing it through the mail)! I'm getting my AZ, as I just emailed them to mail me the packet to do so. I plan on getting my FL since I know I can get that on my IL "training". I do think I may go ahead and start going "full on" "collector", so I may seek the additional UT "training" and get that one too. Any others you fellow "collectors" recommend? Just to cover the list again the ones I have or will/plan to have are: IL, PA, AZ, FL, UT - what else may I consider adding to this list !?
