  1. Was thinking the same thing. This appears to be an admission that the AR platform is NOT a weapon of war r suitable for combat - in deference to the many claims of such by the anti-gun crowd.
  2. Originally, Illinois issued FOID for 5 years. They were considered good in lieu of a Brady check for FFL transfers. When Illinois changed them to 10 years, the ATF backed off that and started requiring a check at point of sale.
  3. Well, after a 36 hour-ish turnaround on sending my updated NRA training credential, I got an email response from the ISP. Credential added AND renewal approved.... Woot! I confirmed it with the ‘view source’ option as well. So, now I await the next card print run...
  4. If you are an instructor - please revisit this (archived) thread: http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52946 If your NRA Pistol Instructor Certification was renewed (and the new one was NOT sent into the ISP) - then this could happen to you!. It would truly be nice if the ISP told us this... or notified us or something.... grrrrrr.... My instructor status in the ispfsb.com portal was listed as 'Active' even though the instructor certification they had on file was expired. Hopefully - they get the updated certification to my account before the resubmission of my application is processed again. Thanks to Molly B for pointing this out to me...
  5. I got a letter that my CCL renewal was 'Denied' for 'Insufficient Number of Training Hours'. Except... I'm a State Certified Trainer... I suspect this is an ISP database issue - since my initial license was regular (I was not a trainer originally) - but I'm renewing as a trainer... Cannot get hold of anyone via the customer service number...
  6. For the purpose of securing in the trunk is the *only* reason you can step out of the car in a prohibited zone while carrying. Personally, I secure in the main vehicle compartment, in a security box secured to the frame of the car - but that’s just me.
  7. I volunteer for the tough job of looking after your firearms while you are there - since you likely cannot take them. Tough job I know... but I’ll persevere... Congrats!
  8. I would think that “McLean County Department of Parks and Recreation” is a “Park District” within the meaning of the Law.
  9. The fact that many of us think of gun ownership as a ‘hobby’ are part of the reason we cannot get the numbers to file witness slips, call legislators etc... It’s a right. Plain and simple. “Shall not be infringed”. The FOID is a poll-tax. Plain and simple.
  10. Or as SCC said... http://secondcitycop.blogspot.com/2017/08/nice-trains-rahm.html
  11. Can you buy a switchblade across state lines? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. If you draw lines between the three nearest Walmarts to me, it would form a triangle and I'd be right in the middle - the furthest point from all of them.
  13. Maybe the people I saw actually had stoled something.... who knows... Off to Walmart I go, $$ where they rarely check receipts... I wonder if they have any .22lr, their online stock system is not showing it... $$
  14. Being aware of the stores policy, and entering is sufficient. No signature needed. You are entering private property - you defer many rights to the property owner. Including their right to ensure your not stealing anything.
  15. Good for you. I've witnessed otherwise. It's also about respect for store policies. I'll respect them - and if I disagree with them I'll shop elsewhere. Not so tough.
  16. I've seen people denied exit and detained (P.D. called) for refusing to show their receipt on exit. It's a store policy, and their right. If you don't like it, plenty of other places to shop.
