Make sure NRA Creds are up to date with ISP!

I got a letter from the ISP couple of weeks ago telling me that my instructor permit was revoked - after waiting on the phone for over 30 minutes I found out that my NRA credentials had expired. Sent I SP the scan of updated credentials. Hopefully keeping my fingers crossed.

The bad part was that they letter did not state why they were revoking my instructor credentials.

The good part - the lady at ISP on the phone was very helpful.

Too bad you didn't see this thread sooner! :(

Got an email from ISP saying that my records have been updated and I am good.

And I got a response from them less than two hours later that confirmed my credential update and also that I had cancelled my curriculum number (you all remember that confusion, I am sure!). Good on the ISP. I applaud them!

Good info. You would think you would get a letter or at least an email 30 days notice. I just checked and am good for a few more years.

My RSO credentials are thru the ISP. They don't have an expiration date. Why do the NRA credentials expire? Can't they do like the ISP and make the certification a lifetime qualification?

but then they couldn't collect the renewal fee.

Anybody have a current working e-mail address to send updated credentials to the ISP?

Their Instructor portal is next to useless like most Pols.

This is what I have from last year: Instructor_Docs@isp.state.il.us

They were very quick to respond and let me know that they updated my file.

Thanks to the OP and others for this thread. I recently renewed my NRA credentials and emailed a scan to the ISP. Just received confirmation that they updated my profile. Took 9 days from when I sent them, so not too shabby.

FYI

I just received the response below from the ISP regarding updating NRA instructor certification renewals. I had emailed a question about updating my certificate to Instructor_Docs@isp.state.il.us which produced this response today from ISP. So I guess we can either send by snail mail to the address below or email to the address above.

Mr. ,

Yes, we do require you to keep your NRA instructor certification current in order to remain a valid ISP Firearms Concealed Carry Instructor. Please forward the updates to this address as they are expiring. We have updated your instructor profile. Thank you for the information.

Hey, all, it is November, and the end of the year will sneak up on us quickly. If it is your year to re-up your NRA creds, get it done now and send in the proof to the ISP.

I just re-upped mine and am getting ready to send them to the ISP.

is this still an issue? I just logged into the ISP FSB website and confirmed that mine do not expire...

Status = Active

Expires = n/a

CCT ID = CCT######

Did you receive an answer to your question? I'm wondering the same thing.

I have been told are registration with the ISP does not expire - however, we must maintain our instructor credentials from which ever entity we received them. . . . so I keep mine current and email to the ISP instructor docs email address.

Is the following email address still good for sending our updated information to.  This is the email I have been using.

Instructor_docs@isp.state.il.us

Thanks
