Witness Slips Needed

Witness Slip Instructions

Please also see Call to Action #2 - Week of 3/24/2014

In what will hopefully be the last week of our calls for witness slips this Spring, our list includes bills rescheduled for both 3/24/2014 and 3/26/2014, as well as one new bill scheduled only for the 26th.

Because this call to action covers 2 hearing dates there are twice the usual number of slips to file. Take heart in the fact that we're almost finished with this phase of proactively protecting our rights. The groundwork laid here and in the weeks leading up to this point will pay dividends as we move past Friday's committee deadlines.

Do note, however, there are a few additional bills under review that may require a small amount of additional work, with emphasis on the word small.

Most of the bills listed below include links to 2 different hearing dates. Please make sure to file witness slips for both.

Done. But wow, that was nearly 50 bills. Is it normal to have that many bills about a single topic or are they trying to overwhelm us with the pure volume?

The number is unusually high because they've been moving these bills in and out of committees instead of actually hearing them.

Normally there are a group that get heard and either move out of committee and onto the floor calendar, or fail in committee. Those that failed plus the ones that haven't been heard typically aren't as obvious anymore.

Neutral on both.

As much as I don't like the clear and present danger wording in the FCCA it's already there. While HB4408 facilitates that reality, it neither adds to it nor mandates the reporting.

If memory serves HB5894 is something Todd is working on. I believe he asked for support on his own, in another thread, but Illinois Carry has not adopted a position on this bill because it isn't close enough to our core purpose.
