InterestedBystander Posted May 31, 2019 at 03:33 PM Share Posted May 31, 2019 at 03:33 PM So, thinking positive that SB1966 does not get out of Senate committee or pass concurrence today, what would happen next assuming Spring session not extended? Bill lies dormant until Fall session Does the bill retain any existing status when it returns or does it fall back to committee and they start the process over but this time needing supermajority votes to pass? SILmama Posted May 31, 2019 at 03:34 PM Share Posted May 31, 2019 at 03:34 PM And Abortion, Fix da FOID, Marijuana, casino, immigrations . . . going to be a busy legislature. Mostly focused on violating Federal Laws and the Constitution. I cannot stand how they leave everything to the last possible minute! I believe they passed Concealed Carry at the last minute, six years ago today, did they not? So it isn't always bad news.

They passed that after the last minute and only because if they didn't we would have basically had constitutional carry and that scared the heck out of the legislators, I certainly don't expect any 'good news' from IL legislators in the last or after minutes unless it's court ordered or they fail to get to get to the bad bills. nulloverride Posted May 31, 2019 at 04:39 PM Share Posted May 31, 2019 at 04:39 PM How much are the cartels paying our politicians to pass this???I think the cartels actually stand to lose money if it's legalized. Think about it. You can grow weed in your own yard. It doesn't take a degree in agriculture or generations of farming in your blood or any special equipment. Grow your own in a flower pot. There's no reason to import the stuff from Mexico or somewhere else if you can get stuff that's just as good in your own (literal) back yard.
