Glocknuckle Posted July 20, 2019 at 02:57 AM Posted July 20, 2019 at 02:57 AM M-Fred's Guitars & Guns in Mattion dropped his FFL this month. Great guy & 2a supporter strangled out of business by this God forsaken state. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

C0untZer0 Posted July 21, 2019 at 12:39 PM Posted July 21, 2019 at 12:39 PM I hope that anyone posting a closing is very very careful to make sure that their information is correct. You can damage someone's business by posting that they have closed or moved their business when they haven't.

You can damage someone's business by posting that they have closed or moved their business when they haven't. I would say 75% of the posts here are 1st hand posts in Social or Traditional Media, mainly Facebook and local papers . I will admit I am not trying to call these places before posting the info; if anyone sees an error let me know I like to leave the Fake News to CNN. I just found this topic on here. I've been finding myself using Reddit more than IL Carry recently... This is all really crappy but I'm glad ISRA and a few other stores have filed suit against the state. There are even some places local to me on there (the suit). I might stop by tomorrow if I have time to ask them some questions.
domin8 Posted August 6, 2019 at 05:48 AM Posted August 6, 2019 at 05:48 AM Regarding that lawsuit, word is things aren't going well. I find what this guy says to not pass the sniff test. Hopefully Skinny will chime in and debunk it like he did the NYSRPA lawsuit. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

spec5 Posted August 6, 2019 at 06:38 PM Posted August 6, 2019 at 06:38 PM Christopher coin gun and pawn closing August 17 if not before in Pekin Illinois on court street. I talked to them today and they said because of dealer licensing.
drumgod Posted August 8, 2019 at 01:34 PM Posted August 8, 2019 at 01:34 PM Well shoot. Another to add to the list: FTL ARMORY AND TRANSFER in Sugar Grove. A home-based ffl who have provided me with great service over the last several years...
papa Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:41 PM Posted August 8, 2019 at 03:41 PM A&S gunsmithing Mt Vernon , ILL. Still doing gunsmithing but no longer selling guns .
JDW Posted August 9, 2019 at 06:38 PM Posted August 9, 2019 at 06:38 PM Great Guns Armory...Plainfield, Illinoiz No longer doing transfers due to dealer licensing act, but, STILL OPEN for what I've always considered top notch gunsmith work at reasonable pricing. Source: Paul, the owner, who I just got off the phone with.

yurimodin Posted October 27, 2019 at 08:10 PM Posted October 27, 2019 at 08:10 PM looks like we're going to left with 80% lowers and reloading by the time this is over. Also add Jim's Guns in Lawrenceville, IL CLOSING
Tango7 Posted November 5, 2019 at 10:03 PM Posted November 5, 2019 at 10:03 PM Schrank's Smoke 'N Gun is permanently closed. From their website:
Patriots & Tyrants Posted November 16, 2019 at 02:59 AM Author Posted November 16, 2019 at 02:59 AM Added two more to the list, Jim's as well as Bridgeview Sports and Sales I was fortunate enough to enjoy the final sale at Schranks, not a place normally on my beaten path but a cool small shop and sad to see them go
Rev Jim Posted November 24, 2019 at 02:56 AM Posted November 24, 2019 at 02:56 AM Ugly Mike's in McHenry also closed because of the licensing law. Mike always offered a fair deal and it's a darn shame.

Great folks. Wish I’d found them sooner. I found a really nice used BHP-40 at a great price and talked myself into walking out with a new Sig Legion when I returned to pick up the BHP. I should have added a couple more used pistols to the ticket but I was pinching pennies.

I am KICKING myself in the butt every day that I didn't buy that Nickel P7 they had for under 2K on Consignment. Those things are $2,500+ all day every day on gun broker.
JDW Posted December 28, 2023 at 12:30 PM Posted December 28, 2023 at 12:30 PM Great Guns Armory in Plainfield stopped doing transfers quite a while ago as I posted after speaking to Paul. I've been trying to get a hold of him via phone and email for many weeks with no response. I get a recording when I call the number and zero response to my emails. I can't say for sure, but I'm going to assume he's completely out of business at this point. If that's the case, it's a darn shame. He's a nice fella and a talented smith. If I'm incorrect please feel free to correct me in this thread.
Capt_Destro Posted December 28, 2023 at 01:26 PM Posted December 28, 2023 at 01:26 PM Six T LLC is gone. My primary FFL states he's closed for transfers for the public. But he still does them for me and a few other long time customers.
JDW Posted August 7, 2024 at 02:40 AM Posted August 7, 2024 at 02:40 AM (edited) I recently found out that BAT Arms out in Plano is closed completely and out of business. I don't how long ago they closed, but I did speak to the wife of the owner and she confirmed this. What a shame. They were nice people and always very helpful.
