Senator Raoul, a man claiming to be the champion of criminal justice reform, filed Amendment 1 on SB2343 Criminal Law Tech this morning. It proposes to establish severe penalties for bump stocks - as high as 30 years in prison.

It has now been added to the Senate Judiciary hearing for this afternoon.

Is this just another one of his poison pills dropped onto a shell bill?

It's all his own language dropped into a shell bill. It would be nice if he isn't serious about this. It is very extreme. But we can't take any chances.

Am I reading this right? ISRA's guy supports this class X nonsense? Why am I a member again?

Maybe he clicked on the wrong position??

The ISRA is on record supporting a bump stock ban

 

 

True, but class X? You could set fire to a bus full of nuns and not be charged with a class x felony.

Yes, their bump stock ban*, but could he really support nonsense this extreme?
