GlockShooter Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:40 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:40 PM ***With the passing of HB183, this map should only be used as a representation of the general climate in individual counties. There is a new law on the books, and that might have an effect on whether you may or may not be arrested/prosecuted for carrying without an IL permit.*** I was asked to start a separate thread containing this map. I will update it as needed. Below is a map of IL broken into counties. I'm following the traffic light theme here, so counties are shown as follows:GREEN for go: The SA has publicly stated that they will not prosecute.YELLOW for caution: Local LEOs and the SA may not be on the same page. One may be for and one against, or the statements publicly given are not firm. Carry at your own risk.RED for stop: Don't even go there. ***Disclaimer***I am not a lawyer, nor am I offering legal advice. Restrictions will most likely vary from county to county. If you choose to carry, it is your responsibility to find out where you can or cannot do so. Also keep in mind that even though the SA states he/she won't prosecute, local Law Enforcement may still choose to arrest. Mods, feel free to add or remove content as you see fit. BobPistol Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:59 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 09:59 PM Now add the resolutions that the various counties passed to that map.
GlockShooter Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:01 PM Author Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:01 PM Now add the resolutions that the various counties passed to that map.Good idea. I'll add them shortly. It will take a bit to compile everything. ETA: Most of what I'm finding is media coverage of what's going on. If anyone has a link for the official statement/resolution in any of the counties, please pass that along. I found the statement posted by Molly from Tazewell. Still searching for the rest.
Ron Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:08 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:08 PM Thanks for taking the time to put this together
TyGuy Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:34 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:34 PM A link in the first post to the appropriate press releases would be most helpful.
Onytay Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:36 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:36 PM I thought Clinton County's OK came from the Sheriff, not the SA?
GlockShooter Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:38 PM Author Posted June 17, 2013 at 10:38 PM A link in the first post to the appropriate press releases would be most helpful.I'm working on that, but I'm trying to link official releases, not press coverage. More to follow...
GlockShooter Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:20 PM Author Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:20 PM I'm posting links to the media until I can find something more official. Some info is better than none. Oh, and White Co. was added.
Dave D Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:26 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:26 PM Cool, I have seen the official links from the SA, wouldnt that be better? In fact, I think Molly B posted a few
Blade13 Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:29 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:29 PM I thought Clinton County's OK came from the Sheriff, not the SA? It did come from the Sheriff. http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=38685

GlockShooter Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:35 PM Author Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:35 PM Cool, I have seen the official links from the SA, wouldnt that be better? In fact, I think Molly B posted a fewSee post #5 above. I would prefer to post those, but my Google Fu is weak. Feel free to post them here, and I will update the links in the original post.
Blaster Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:39 PM Posted June 17, 2013 at 11:39 PM 92 counties passed the 2nd Amendment Resolution that we started several years ago. The Governor and AG are stalling and playing a political chess game with our Right to carry. We need to contact all of the 92 counties that passed the Resolution to follow in the footsteps of the SA's that have decided to follow the ruling of the court and the General Assembly.

abolt243 Posted June 18, 2013 at 12:23 AM Posted June 18, 2013 at 12:23 AM If I might suggest. Adding the resolution counties to the same map might be somewhat confusing and "busy". Perhaps adding the separate map to the same post and putting it all in a sticky would serve our needs better. A side by side comparison would convey the same message I think. Just a suggestion GlockShooter. If you can combine the two maps and come up with an appropriate color code, on one single map, go for it!! Thanks for putting this together. Tim

Chuck Bunyon Posted June 18, 2013 at 03:18 AM Posted June 18, 2013 at 03:18 AM Cone on Macon county. I talked to our SA and he said him and the sheriff have been discussing something that will allow citizens to carry without letting criminals fall through the cracks.
