Well, the news wasn't real good. New Xrays indicate that the ball of the humerus (top of arm) has been "out of alignment" for some time and there is damage to the AC joint at the top and on the lower inner surface where the ball meets the scapula. Doctor wants me to get an MRI as it will do a better job of imaging the soft tissues and that will happen in about 2 weeks. After that, who knows.
If I avoid moving the shoulder in certain ways, it "behaves". On Wednesday, before going to the doctor on Thursday, a neighbor and I spent about 2.5 hours splitting wood 6-14" diameter into wedges for my fireplace. We filled up the bed of my Ford Ranger p/u and I plan on pulling it into the carport tomorrow with a tarp over the wood to keep the snow off the wood. I use 5 gal. plastic buckets to carry 1-3 pieces into the house (1 bucket in each hand) or a lot of 2" or thinner "kindling". I just can't reach out with my right arm and hook my fingers behind the log and drag it towards me. In doing that the other day getting wood out of my car's trunk, the shoulder popped out twice but went back in with a few seconds of "shrugging" & rotation.
It's "H" getting old !
