  1. Not that it really means anything, and it’s probably local management following company-wide directives, but recently, we were in a Walmart near Alton, Illinois. I saw a sign on the entry door telling customers, please do not open carry firearms into the store, only law enforcement personnel are allowed to open carry. I seriously thought about informing the manager that open carry is illegal in Illinois, only concealed carry is allowed. But then my wife said I would be wasting my time and oxygen. She’s right, you know. Just wondered if anyone else had seen these signs anywhere else in the state. Like I said earlier, it’s probably just the local management team following corporate directives, issued by know nothings who do nothing.
  2. We moved to Missouri June 1, 2020. According to Missouri statute, we had 30 days to get a drivers license, registration, and registered to vote. After we did all that, I gathered up my Illinois FOID card, my wife’s FOID card, and my CCL card, composed a notification letter to the Illinois State Police Firearms Services Bureau, informing them of our relocation to Missouri, attached the cards to the letter, signed, dated, made copies of the letter, and mailed it off to Springfield, by certified mail, meaning they had to sign for it, and I got the card back stating date and time they signed, signifying they received it. Never heard a peep back from them. Just last week, I went to the portal to check on my status, it still shows both FOID and CCL active, and the COVID notification concerning renewal. I then drafted a letter, detailing our move and when, a copy of the letter when I returned the cards, and a copy of the card they had to sign when I returned the cards. I am holding this letter in reserve, in the event something happens, a law changes, Democrats go rogue, or whatever, ISPFSB has been in possession of my Illinois cards, and THEY are responsible. I also noted that my attorney has been notified in the event of some legal action against me, that the State of Illinois will be sued. I seriously doubt anything of that nature happens, but I’m ready if it does. I trust Pritzker and Biden as far as I can throw them, as the saying goes. Democrats won’t be happy until all of our 2nd Amendment rights are gone, and then, they will take something else away.
  3. I went back exactly five years and a couple of weeks ago, a story discussed here on IC, about a ccl holder in Peoria that got into an argument with a woman over a parking space, he pulled his weapon, and pointed it at the woman’s passenger who had gotten out of her vehicle. He then left the shopping center, went home, and that’s where the police arrested him. The thread was archived, so you should be able to find it. I seem to remember that he was charged with a lesser offense, and was sentenced. I tried to search his record, nothing came up, maybe he got it expunged. Article out of the Peoria Journal Star, Spec 5 lives in that area, (or used to), as did I, but I moved out last summer. The incident happened in December 2015. Good luck with your search.
  4. Guess what, folks? Mine came today, along with my new foid card!!!!!!!! My timeline was thus: applied with prints 4 August 16, active 9-21-16, in my grubby paws 9-30-16. Congrats to all my Illinois carry friends who received theirs the past couple of days, the old printer in Spfld. must have had a workout printing all our licenses and foid cards. Hopefully the system gets more streamlined for all the folks in review, board review, and wherever else they are keeping them. I will continue to read this forum to try to soak up as much knowledge as I can.

  6. Same for me here. Not only is the mail from Spfld. slow, but my local post office is S-L-O-W-E-R than molasses in January in the Arctic , and that's only if they don't deliver my mail to someone else's residence, which happens a lot. I'm sure I will get it by sometime in November...☹️
