Biden AG pick Merrick Garland says there’s room for new gun control

By Steven Nelson February 22, 2021 | 12:59pm | Updated

President Biden’s nominee for attorney general Merrick Garland on Monday said there’s legal room for new federal gun control and he wouldn’t rule out policies that ban certain types of guns.

Garland, a federal appeals court judge, told senators at his confirmation hearing that Biden supports new limits and that his job would be to pursue them.

“As I’m sure you know, the president is a strong supporter of gun control and has been an advocate all of his life, professional life, on this question. The role of the Justice Department is to advance the policy program of the administration as long as it is consistent with the law,” Garland told the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“And as I said, so far we have a little indication from the Supreme Court as to what this means. But we don’t have a complete indication. And where there is room under the law for the president’s policies to be pursued, then I think the president is entitled to pursue them.”

And Obummer tried to put this left wing activist jackass on the SCOTUS to replace Scalia.  Where does the 2A say, "may be infringed by executive dictat?"

McConnel and Trump may be at loggerheads and never see another electable office in their lives but thanks to them there is one less idiot and 4 more decent justices on SCOTUS. Just wish they would take the 2A seriously and soon!

This guy smelled bad when he was trying for SCOTUS.   No surprise that Biden gave him his present job.

Well, if Garland does get confirmed as the AG, if any of his actions towards the second amendment are unconstitutional this might force SCOTUS to actually take up a case.

IF you could count on the court to actually up hold the constitution, lately that is not the case.

Let's rewind to 2016, remember when the liberals and MSM were calling all the pro-2nd people lying conspiracy theorist for daring to suggest Garland was anti-2nd?

All I want to know is, where are all of the Democratic gun owners now, who said we had nothing to worry about?  That all of their leaders just want to take guns out of the hands of bad guys. Everything would be just fine.

I guess the reality is, they look at all Conservatives as Bad Guys, and the true bad guys - You know, the car jackers, armed robbers, and murderers - Their voters, are really the good guys.

Figure that out.  That is one F'd up perspective.

If you make a vast majority of the Republicans felons, it's a whole lot easier for the Democrats to win elections and seize power, their fellow Democratic gun owners are just the collateral damage.

This article suggest their plans could turn 105 million Americans into criminals, that is 1/3 the population, and even if that number is off by a factor of 10 that is still a huge percentage!

The problem is the left go after "Z", knowing they can't get it. They want it but they can't get it. SO, the settle for "L" this time. Then they go after "Z" again knowing they can't get it, SO they settle for "N". Then they go after "Z"now again knowing they can't get it but settle for "P". One tiny step at a time but always headed toward their goal of "Z".

Now they are branching out knowing that they can't get "Z" but they can help get there by going after ammo. Lead is a danger to the environment. Back ground checks- that they can delay as long as they can. Enforcing draconian storage requirements. Licenses, red flag laws, etc etc etc

While our side pats themselves on the back for giving them "P" when the left really wanted "Z". Instead they ought to be pushing it back to "L" with the goal of "A".
