South Carolina is expected to become the 29th state to enact a law allowing residents to carry a firearm, whether openly or concealed, without a permit.

The Republican-led state Senate on Wednesday passed the South Carolina Constitutional Carry/Second Amendment Preservation Act with a 28-18 vote, sending the bill to the desk of Republican Gov. Henry McMaster, who reportedly is expected to sign it Thursday. The GOP-led state House passed the bill Tuesday by an 86-33 vote.

Nice to see, thanks for sharing.  Can’t wait for the “but the other 29 or 30 states are ‘different’ from us” and explanations from the control freaks in states like IL when there is no negative impact from permitless in SC.

Are there any cases pending in Illinois challenging the need for a permission slip to carry?  I would think Bruen decision would mean a permission slip is not constitutional.

If no such pending cases - why not?

I've heard that argument. I'm in Tennessee now and an in-law who lives in Chicago said more or less the same thing. She said you can't compare Chicago to Nashville.

Ok, how about Memphis? That place is soaked in crime. The similarity is that they do not mirror the rest of the state, yet in Illinois, the state pays for the sins of one.

"Yeah, but Chicago is surrounded by pro gun states and that is a big problem for the city."

Well, Tennessee is collared by Georgia, Alabama, Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi. They all seem to share something.

Many people never let facts and logic get in the way of emotion.  They argue for things that have never worked yet “feel” that it should work so they’ll keep trying it again and again.

You see, its because Chiraq is disproportionately affected by climate change and lack of equity.

And therein lies the definition of insanity, a "mental aberration" that should be used to "red flag" every single one of them and take any weapons they have away from them.

At minimum, flag the progressives who openly admit that they hate guns because they might "snap" if someone bumps them in the grocery store - and project that mentality onto every else.

Memphis has the Beale Street Disarmament District.

what's that?????

Beale Street is a big deal for entertainment in Memphis, a city with probably more crime on a per-capita basis than Chicago.

The Merchants association essentially owns the street when they are open for business.
It's a no gun zone, it's a no knife zone.
Guns and knives get in anyway, in spite of the wanding.
TN has no permit required for carry, and you can carry into bars as long as you are not drinking/drunk?
but not on Beale Street.

So there are problems, both on and off Beale Street.

Beale Street -

Is this GFZ statutory or just “private property” with wanding?

Somehow I doubt city/town laws override the states unless there's something specific written into the law.

If I can legal posses a firearm where I'm at someone trying to take it away makes me fear for my life.
