WPxx Posted April 16, 2014 at 10:40 PM Share Posted April 16, 2014 at 10:40 PM What is Rep. Welch's stance on concealed carry? Looks like he was a sponser of the bill to change the signage to may carry instead of can't carry.

TRJ Posted April 18, 2014 at 03:50 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 03:50 PM Who's the woman? She already doesn't like you.She looks like the screetcher that shows up to my HOA meetings and desperately needs a hobby, I mean other than her current hobbies of measuring neighbors grass and not picking up her dogs crap from my front yard. Anxiously awaiting report from the meeting. Give em heck.

WPxx Posted April 18, 2014 at 05:57 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 05:57 PM Who's the woman? She already doesn't like you. Moms Demand Action spokesperson. She just sat there nodding her head. Todd was a rock star. The audience submitted questions and he was usually the only one who knew the answers. Don't think too many people changed their opinion. Seemed to me just to be a publicity vehicle for Welch.

WPxx Posted April 18, 2014 at 06:27 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 06:27 PM One thing that really came across was that concealed carry is here to stay, there will be tweaking, and there will be litigation. The ISP spokesperson seemed kind of neutral to me and the IL Council Against Handgun Violence guy seemed like he didn't want to be there.

BIGDEESUL Posted April 18, 2014 at 07:20 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 07:20 PM Sorry, we went out to lunch after for debriefing. Yes she was the MDA spokesperson. Last name Chen. She seems very clueless, possibly a head full of air? Todd was the only one who understood the in depth questions that were asked. I couldn't believe how ignorant the anti's sitting behind us were. Rocco spoke to clarify what his question was, and the ignorant old windbags kept squaking and whining that we're not supposed to talk. I told them that they obviously hate the first amendment just as much as the second before we were asked to quiet down. Lol. All of us were very friendly and polite. Their side were ignorant and disruptive. Ignorance and stupidity go hand in hand I suppose. In all a pretty good meeting. And lunch with TV afterward was great. Always great to see some fellow IC members.
Yas Posted April 18, 2014 at 08:16 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 08:16 PM There was approximatly 33-37 in attendance not counting panel. But Welch had 2 assistants and the ISP speaker also brought 2 individuals also. I'd guess that MDA had 8-10 supporters there.

Rockdiver Posted April 18, 2014 at 09:53 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 09:53 PM Honestly, I thought it was fairly pathetic. They told us to write questions....that we would not be allowed to speak...and That Welch would read them to the panel. O.K. Rocco writes questions, Welch starts to ask Questions.... Questions specificly for Mark and bubbles, but some for Welch. "How do you reconcile denying women the ability and means to defend themselves against predatory violence with your public agenda on firearms?" Bubbles blanches and looks at floor...Mark Stutters for 11 seconds and mumbles that no victims have ever told him that the wished. they had a gun. Rocco Bad. Rocco talk. Rocco say Petit? Shepard??? No answer. Cuts to next question Grat question by BigD about the difference in gun violence and actual gun crimes..... No answer by M or B, complete Deflection into a focus on straw purchases and tracking by Welch. To B Continued.....
Yas Posted April 18, 2014 at 10:13 PM Share Posted April 18, 2014 at 10:13 PM Rocco was on an entirely different educational plane than the MDA rep. She "Felt" He knew facts, ( I have seen worse at some meetings in the past out of brady bunch types) But you have to use a velvet glove with them. You may never alter the values the zealots have but its the ones attending in the audience that are showing up curious are the ones you may persuade and thats normally a small percentage at a meeting like this. I suspect Welch held this to coddle MDA. The best result we could use this for is to further help show legislators reason and examples of why we might have issues with the way some legislation is phrased. Educate Welch to the bigger picture rather than push him into knee jerk legislation whenever theres an incident from a nutgall thats off his meds and heads to a gun free zone. MDA was suggary sweet Barbie soccer mom. I hope she's the Illinois chapter president. I suspect Todd's job is easier with foes like that. Forgot to add. ISP speaker mentioned that C®ook County has 8911 active CCL permit holders as of about 3 days ago.
