  5. Well, you know it's an honor to be part of such an awesome group. Besides, no one else will put up with me.
  6. Thank you for putting up with listening to those clowns!
  7. I would prefer a full smackdown, but this is actually a good option as it gives the lower courts a chance to see the error of their ways... At the end of the day the SCOTUS can no longer stay silent, they are being ignored by the lower courts on a daily basis, they simply can't allow that to continue...
  8. Mauserme, just a quick note to say Thank You for these updates and all you do to contribute to this site/the greater community of 2A rights advocates in IL!
  9. The case was filed in the Federal District of Northern Texas on May 1. (docket) Other plaintiffs at this time are Gun Owners Foundation, GOA, LA, MS, UT, Tennessee Firearms Association, Virginia Citizens Defense League, and an individual plaintiff. At issue is the ATF "final rule" which requires private individuals to possess a Federal Firearm License if they sell firearms which are not part of a personal collection. Firearms owned for self-defense are prohibited from being classified as being part of a personal collection. (i.e., Selling firearms owned for self-defense thus requires a license.)

  11. Senate Calendar 12:00 Noon HB2323 Uniform Crime Statistics Data Neutral House Sponsor: Didech, Cabello Senate Sponsor: Edly-Allen, Johnson Status: Senate/Second Reading (Deadline 5/10/2024) Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Illinois State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Illinois State Police shall establish a Uniform Statewide Crime Statistics Task Force within 90 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act. Provides for the appointment of the members to the Task Force by the Director of the Illinois State Police. Provides that the Task Force shall meet at least monthly to assist the Illinois State Police in the development and implementation of an integrated software system for gathering and publishing crime data from all law enforcement agencies throughout the State. Requires submission, within one year after the effective date of the amendatory Act, of a final report and recommendations to the Director of the Illinois State Police with, at a minimum, the following information: progress on the development of the integrated software system, what the expected cost would be to implement the integrated software system, and what protocols on accessing and updating the information should be implemented. Dissolves the Task Force and repeals the provisions 2 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act. House Amendment 1 to HB2323 – Adopted Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Moves the provisions to the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act from the Illinois State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (rather than the Illinois State Police) shall establish a Uniform Statewide Crime Statistics Task Force within 120 days (rather than 90 days) after the effective date of the amendatory Act and provide administrative and technical (rather than other) support to the Task Force. Provides that the members of the Task Force shall be appointed by the Executive Director of the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (rather than the Director of the Illinois State Police), and modifies the membership of the Task Force. Requires the Task Force to meet at least quarterly (rather than monthly). Requires the Task Force to submit a report no later than 18 months after first convening (rather than one year after the effective date of the amendatory Act) to the Governor, General Assembly, and the Director of the Illinois State Police (rather than only to the Director). Modifies the requirements of the report. Further amends the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Act. Provides that the Authority may exercise any other powers that are reasonable and necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the Authority under this Act and to comply with the requirements of applicable State or federal law (rather than federal law) or regulation. Senate Amendment 1 to HB2323 - Adopted Provides that the Uniform Statewide Crime Statistics Task Force shall meet at least quarterly to assist in the development and implementation of certain software for certain purposes (rather than shall meet quarterly to assist the Illinois State Police in the development and implementation of certain software for certain purposes). Provides that the Task Force shall submit a final report to the Governor, General Assembly, and the Executive Director of the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (rather than the Governor, General Assembly, and the Director of the Illinois State Police).

  14. No they don't. Its called SUPREME court for a reason. ...[bold added by yurimodin] 100% wrong. Lawsuits are tried. The Supreme Court (and Court of Appeals) can set the precedent on which the lawsuit is decided, but the trial must still take place. Trials take place in district courts, not in the Supreme Court or courts of appeals.
  15. Senate Amendment 1 to HB2323 was adopted in Committee and HB2323 Uniform Crime Statistics Data is reported to the Senate floor, all with no testimony.
  16. The House stands adjourned until 5/2/2024 @ 12:00 Noon.

  19. But we don't have a Democracy, we have a Constiutional Republic.
  20. If it’s NOT one of the enumerated powers granted to the federal government …. the federal government should NOT be doing it ! Problem solved.
  21. No they don't. Its called SUPREME court for a reason. They can chose to nip this in the bud ASAP if they want. Unfortunately they have seemed too worried about upsetting their blue blood Karen neighbors in the HOA of their gated communities to give a poo. I hope I am wrong but SCOTUS needs to decide if they want to actually be relevant in the future.
  22. We are just reaping the thistles & thorns we sewed by enlarging the government to the size we needed it to be in order to win WW2 and never receding it back to its pre-war size.
  23. Mine showed 72 days remaining then on 04/30/2024 (the same day both were supposed to expire) I was magically renewed and active with 2029 renewal, no new card. I submitted my renewal app 03/01, no prints on file.
