bob Posted July 8, 2013 at 12:53 AM Share Posted July 8, 2013 at 12:53 AM (edited) Has anyone heard what the NRA and/or the other pro 2nd amendment response is going to be to these AWB bans? It appears right now the NRA and ISRA are mostly licking their wounds from the beating Madigan gave them. In any case, it is not like they can snap their fingers and make AWB go away. They are making gun owners aware of the problem and encouraging citizens to go to the meetings of the local governing bodies and make it clear such things are unwelcome. it most cases, this seems to be working. for the places it is not working, the courts are the only recourse, and that is a very slow process. you win some, you lose some, sometimes it is not real obvious whether you have won or lost. but you keep trying. Jimmy9Fingers Posted July 9, 2013 at 01:00 AM Share Posted July 9, 2013 at 01:00 AM Village of Western Springs did not bring ban up for vote. No interest by trustees. One wanted it, the rest said no. Village president, a viet nam vet, said that it was a federal and state issue, not for local goverments.

McCroskey Posted July 9, 2013 at 06:18 PM Share Posted July 9, 2013 at 06:18 PM So far this local AWB thing hasn't been as bad as it could have been. What do we have so far, three bans? All three in towns easy to avoid, and all three likely to be challenged. Gotta keep on top of these.
