You are correct Mike. They were 2008,2009 and 2010. I've got a lot of photos of each. We had some great speakers, we even had Suzzana Hupp from Texas. I can't imagine how Molly B pulled that one off! Otis McDolnald was there as well as all of the plaintiffs in the SCOTUS case. I took the opportunity to have each of them sign a copy of the decision. Local WLS radio personality Cisco Coto was our MC. We offered some of that ISRA cold water to the cops looking on and I even offered a bottle to Tony Preckwinkle who happened to be walking by and stopped. Mark The Sign Guy did his usual amazing job. Molly and the ISRA worked miracles getting the permits, sound gear, lining up speakers etc. I've got plenty of photos of each year. This one is my favorite of Otis McDonald and Suzzana Hupp:

Heck, we even got a police escort around City Hall in 2010. We even knew how to deal with counter protesters. Father Phleger showed up but we made sure that there would never be photo taken without our message in it. Poor Fadder Flaky was mad that he didn't get any photo ops printed.

We tried that in 2008, 2009 and 2010. It was called SAFR - Second Amendment Freedom Rally. I would guess we got as many people from downstate as we did from Chicago and the 'Burbs WE even got a permit to march around City Hall

Do you carry while attending Church?
Lou replied to StuckInIllinois's topic in Illinois Right to Keep and Carry
I'm in Missouri now and my wife's church pays for an officer from the local PD during the Sunday service. They show up in a village squad in uniform and stand by the door before the service. They usually make a lap around the parking lot during the service too. She has had conversations with several of the men in church who she says always wear a suit jacket. She is sure there is more than one that carries, whether it is officially sanctioned or not. -
It is called "revenue enhancement"

After carrying a few tools over time I couldn't wait to buy a G43 when they came out. After I got one I found it carried just like I was hoping for but after doing a few realistic drills with it i found it just didn't live up to what I felt I needed. Fortunately someone at the range that day was practicing with a SIG P365 and let me try it. I found it carried just as comfortably as the G43, much better than my G26 and my hits were much better and more consistent Been my EDC since. It even works with shorts and a tee shirt

From CBS News. Maybe CCW should be allowed on the CTA. CHICAGO (CBS) — Four people were killed in a mass shooting on a CTA Blue Line train in Forest Park on Monday morning. Forest Park Police Deputy Chief Christopher Chin said all four victims were passengers on a Blue Line train as it was headed into the Forest Park terminal when they were shot shortly before 5:30 a.m. Police said three victims were found dead at the scene. A fourth victim was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Chin said the victims' ages and genders were not yet available as of 11:15 a.m. Chin said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident, and there was no threat to the community. Investigators believe there was only one shooter. Police said it did not appear the shooter knew any of the victims, who all appeared to be homeless people riding the train. Police also said it did not appear that the shooting involved a robbery, and that the attack was completely random.

Harris backed using ‘lists’ of gun owners to send police door-to-door to seize firearms By Kerry Picket Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris once threatened to use databases of gun owners to send police to their homes to confiscate firearms. Ms. Harris described her gun control stance in August 2019 at a Democratic presidential primary forum that took place shortly after two deadly mass shootings in California and Texas. She said she was “prepared to take executive action” to implement comprehensive background checks, crack down on gun dealers and ban the import of so-called "assault weapons". Ms. Harris said she knew how to enforce tough gun laws because as California attorney general she allowed police to “knock on the doors of people” on a state list of prohibited gun owners and people deemed a danger to themselves and others. “We sent law enforcement out to take those guns because we have to deal with this on all levels.” More here: https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2024/aug/1/kamala-harris-backed-using-lists-of-gun-owners-to-/?utm_campaign=twtnl_x&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=SocialFlow

I find this particularly onerous. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the driver's license shall be suspended and the motor vehicle registration shall not be renewed until a person fully complies with an order to surrender firearms. Amends various other Acts to make conforming and other changes. Effective immediately.

That’s a lot of money for something you can probably make yourself by blocking the mag of your AR with a piece of wood and severely shortening a spring. It might take a bit of trial and error but not too much talent.
