  1. SB3229 is an embarrassment for ISRA. They should be embarrassed, in any event. Their only relevance has become carrying the water for a few anti-gun Reps who realized they can play to their egos. The Republican caucus has mostly figured out that there are more reasonable voices to be heard.
  2. lol Yes, it can just stay in limbo until Veto Session though it sounds like it would be moot at that point.
  3. You may have missed some earlier discussion about staying on the topic of gun rights, especially since this topic is in National Politics, though I would have thought you've been here long enough to understand that we are a single issue forum even if our members aren't single issue voters. If you'd like to start a Back Room topic go for it, but please respect the membership and the forum intent enough to comply with guidelines the vast majority of us have no problem adhering to.
  4. I think it was HB958, rather than HB938. When you were listening, did they pull the bill from the record after the failed vote? They'll do that to give the sponsor a do-over, removing any record of the initial vote and giving them a chance to work on getting more votes. The bill could then come back a day or two later or, sometimes, later the same day. The report for all bill activity occurring today is inclusive all the way to the adjournment resolution (SJR67), adoption of which was the very last action of the day. When they run so late into the evening or next morning, that report can lag behind but given that SJR67 is included, I'm sure if the Senate had voted on SB3229 concurrence, it would be shown. We'll probably see it again in the Veto Session, though I'm not convinced Senate concurrence is guaranteed.
  5. Building unrealistic expectations is part of the plan.
  6. Despite removing themselves as sponsors, Reps Olickal and Slaughter did vote in favor of SB3229.
  7. There was no vote on HB4471 Crim Cd - Convertible Pistols, or on HB4999 MHDD Cd - Disclosure Exception and HB5209 FOID - Mental Health (the latter two being superceded by SB3229 HA1). They have been referred back to the Rules Committee.
  8. Here are the supplemental calendars. I don't see that SB3229 was ever debated in the Senate. House Supplemental Calendar 1 House Supplemental Calendar 2 House Supplemental Calendar 3 House Supplemental Calendar 4 Senate Supplemental Calendar 1 Senate Supplemental Calendar 2 Senate Supplemental Calendar 3 Senate Supplemental Calendar 4
  9. Followed shortly thereafter by adjournment of the House. ETA. Thank you, Euler.
  10. Thank you all for keepimg on eye on them. The Senate just adjourned until the Veto Session.
  11. I hate to do this but tomorrow I have a very early morning. I'm gonna have to call it a night.
  12. Yep. The amendment combines HB4999 and HB5209, the ISRA supported bills, into a package that can be passed in a single day with no one able to voice opposition. Its how the swamp works.
  13. Oh shoot. The Rules Committee just approved SB3229 HA4 for consideration.
  14. The House is back.
  15. There are some interesting sponsorship changes on SB3229: 5/31/2026HouseAlternate Chief Co-Sponsor Removed Rep. Justin Slaughter 5/31/2026HouseAlternate Chief Co-Sponsor Removed Rep. Kevin John Olickal 5/31/2026HouseAlternate Chief Co-Sponsor Removed Rep. Lisa Davis 5/31/2026HouseAdded Alternate Chief Co-Sponsor Rep. Yolonda Morris 5/31/2026HouseAdded Alternate Chief Co-Sponsor Rep. Lindsey LaPointe 5/31/2026HouseAdded Alternate Chief Co-Sponsor Rep. Dagmara Avelar Representatives Slaughter and Olickal are pretty reliably anti-gun, yet they aren't that interested in this bill. Rep LaPointe doesn't typically get too involved in sponsoring anti-gun bills. This may be more an expression of moral support on her part, than an expectation the bill will advance.
