I am not sure what you are getting at. I supplied fingerprints as one of the first group of CCL applicants, instructors. Ever since the automatic FOID renewal began, My FOID has been extended for ten years beyond the purchase of a firearm via an FFL. It works exactly as was described. This includes the whole ya can't use your RN/LPN prints for your CCL and you can't use your CCL prints for your liquor or cannabis sales license. I presume that once my prints are in the system... they can and will be used in any law enforcement investigation. This should be the expectation of everyone. Mine have been in the system for decades. We are the good guys. Zero problems. Cheers, Tim

Foid
soundguy replied to Penumbra1811's topic in Illinois FOID Application, Renewal & Appeal Process
Since no one else has responded on this beautiful Sunday... I don't understand what you had to file, or why, but if there is any anomaly in your application, it's just going to take longer than an application without problems. Hope it comes through soon. Keep us posted. Cheers, Tim -

It is so easy to carry a FOID/CCL card. Not all LEO know the rules. Be prepared. Hope he wins... Cheers, Tim -
Any point in renewing Florida CCW?
soundguy replied to walther's topic in Illinois Concealed Carry Licensing Process
It's not a complete waste of money... A Florida non-res adds New Mexico to the list for us Illinoisans. Cheers, Tim -
If he's in Illinois and wants to buy ammo here using that Illinois DL he needs to show his FOID. If his credit card shows up as an Illinois billing address, he probably needs a FOID. Not sure if an out-of-stater can still by ammo in Illinois. I hope you keep us updated as to how he has two DL and and why! The Cabela's in Hammond needed to see my FOID once because of the Illinois credit card address... no problem. I learned to order what I actually wanted on-line for less instead of trying to find it in a local store. I kinda miss buying .22 bricks at KMart. Cheers, Tim

Since the election nears and no one has done this yet, here are links to the campaign pages of the Republican candidates for Senate. My very brief observations: One candidate mentions the 2A. One candidate seems to be more of an extension of MAGA. I included brief quotes from some web sights as pertinent to me. I am certain I missed things important to you... Please do your own research. Discuss, explore, choose a good one. R. Cary Capparelli Casey Chibek (Introducing the MAGNA & MULA Agendas Casey’s 2026 campaign is grounded in two powerful pillars:) Jeannie Evans (Having lost my brother as an innocent victim of drug-related gun violence at age 21, and having witnessed the devastating impact of crime on Chicago’s South Side where I raised my family, I will work to make our communities safer. I will support our law enforcement officers to create new solutions and ensure they have the tools and resources they need to protect our families, neighborhoods, and businesses.) Pamela Denise Long (address urban crime spikes while respecting Second Amendment rights) (Protect the right to bear arms, including promotion of responsible gun ownership, handling, and storage of firearms.) Jimmy Lee Tillman. II (I am Dr. Jimmy Lee Tillman II from Chicago—leading the MAGA Cavalry as the only GOP candidate who can win Chicago and has the strong name recognition statewide that Republicans need to win in Illinois. am Dr. Jimmy Lee Tillman II from Chicago—leading the MAGA Cavalry as the only GOP candidate who can win Chicago...) *This web sight is difficult for me to cut and paste from. Any Downside to getting a CCW
soundguy replied to Dan The Man's topic in Illinois Right to Keep and Carry
I am fairly certain the answer is no. A DUI is completely controllable for any person. If you feel you might be impaired, do not drive. If you must drive, do not imbibe. It's pretty simple to be responsible. Cheers, Tim -

I will stick with "can of worms" in as much as while you and I, and others like us, will have some rights restored by being able to mail a gun to anyone without involving an FFL, others who should not have access to firearms may possibly have greater access. I want to be able to ship/mail to my gunsmith without involving a third party FFL or Ship My Gun on my end. I don't think we are ready to allow Bob Insurrectionist to directly ship/mail guns to Peter Protester in Minneapolis. Cheers, Tim

Any point in renewing Florida CCW?
soundguy replied to walther's topic in Illinois Concealed Carry Licensing Process
Florida was my first. I wanted a Katherine Harris but got a Charles Bronson. It's been quite some time since I renewed, because of the difficult fingerprint requirement. At least in Illinois your prints live forever, if you chose to get them. Cheers, Tim
