boog Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:25 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:25 PM I have been thinking about this since attending McHenry County meeting last week. Is anyone interested?? There is almost 1 million population in Dupage County. This would be a voice that the rest of the State would listen to. Anyone, Anyone????Boog
Jeffrey Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:33 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:33 PM Dupage is a largely populated county with quite a few anti's. I think this is a great idea.
Chris Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:39 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:39 PM Also if anyone has any ideas for a Pro 2a friendly place to met let us know too.
Federal Farmer Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:41 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:41 PM I believe that DuPage will be a home rule county after the 2010 census. We'll have to have a presence there to keep bad ordinances off their radar.
Jeffrey Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:47 PM Posted January 26, 2010 at 07:47 PM Also if anyone has any ideas for a Pro 2a friendly place to met let us know too.The trap range in Naperville? If I still lived there, I would say my backyard. Kendall county is home now though.
boog Posted January 26, 2010 at 08:14 PM Author Posted January 26, 2010 at 08:14 PM I can tell everyone as a fact, we have taught LOTS of Dupage County and Chicago residents the Utah CCW class. so they are not all anti'sboog
johnyt101 Posted January 27, 2010 at 12:34 AM Posted January 27, 2010 at 12:34 AM Im in as well. The trap range in Naperville would be a good place to meet or maybe Gun World when it finally opens in Lombard. I have been talking to some of the Dupage County Board members and some of them seem to think that the county will not hit the million mark because there hasnt been significant growth in the past 2 to 3 years. Well see tho...
Chris Posted January 27, 2010 at 01:25 AM Posted January 27, 2010 at 01:25 AM The ideal place for a meeting place would be a friendly restaurant with a private room that is near a major highway.
eric2281 Posted January 27, 2010 at 02:31 AM Posted January 27, 2010 at 02:31 AM Count me in for sure.
Lou Posted January 27, 2010 at 03:00 AM Posted January 27, 2010 at 03:00 AM I'm in too. My only concern is that we work closely with Illinois Carry and the ISRA and not duplicate our efforts.

I would push for this to be a grassroots group of the ISRA much like Will County Grassroots and Knox County Grassroots

TyGuy Posted January 27, 2010 at 04:55 AM Posted January 27, 2010 at 04:55 AM They meant Heaters not Hooters. It's a restraunt themed on famous firearms. The $19.11 steak. The BMG = Big Mouth Gordita. The Garand Burger etc....

mikew Posted January 27, 2010 at 12:54 PM Posted January 27, 2010 at 12:54 PM Hmm, anticipate the pent up demand and have that first meeting in a big place. McHenry was packed with 500 people. However, they did spend a month getting the word out.

Bob Lee Swagger Posted January 27, 2010 at 05:38 PM Posted January 27, 2010 at 05:38 PM Why not at the College of Dupage? With large enough numbers an outdoor location would be unbeatable.

I have my Carhart cold weather gear, but it's COLD outside! I wonder if we can use space inside the college. I know they have a number of larger classroom/lecture halls, even adjacent, offsite rooms the size of gymnasiums.

I called COD, they no longer allow inside space to non student/staff (even to an Alumni). I do not know about outside space, as I kept getting transferred to people who had no idea (I ended up at the IT help desk).
