Bubbacs Posted May 30, 2019 at 05:59 PM Posted May 30, 2019 at 05:59 PM To ludvik83, Any updates?Did the resubmit work?Have you heard from the ISP? Or did you go ahead and retake the classes? Thanks.
Ludvik83 Posted June 6, 2019 at 12:46 AM Author Posted June 6, 2019 at 12:46 AM Right now my status says “Under Review” I’ve got my fingers crossed.
reelpro Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:22 AM Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:22 AM I have a student who expired wed June 5. She did the renewal today June 9th. Renewal successful.
Bubbacs Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:41 AM Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:41 AM When you say successful you mean the state took her money or she got the new card?Weird how different strokes with different folks.........

cola490 Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:02 PM Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:02 PM yesI thought that if that happened, you had to take the entire class 8 or 16 hours and reapply.
Quiet Observer Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:31 PM Posted June 10, 2019 at 01:31 PM yesI thought that if that happened, you had to take the entire class 8 or 16 hours and reapply. At this point the ISP computer has only accepted her properly completed application. Later review will determine if she has met the requirements for renewal. See post #11 for a copy of the letter from the ISP concerning the requirement to retake 8 or 16 hour class, if one's CCL expires. Numerous posters have had their applications accepted for an original CCL and have been under review for months to years. Acceptance of an application is only the first step. It is also possible that the rule has changed.
InterestedBystander Posted June 10, 2019 at 02:59 PM Posted June 10, 2019 at 02:59 PM Molly has posted that some have had renewals accepted if it was just a couple of days after the expire date.
Ludvik83 Posted September 17, 2019 at 02:58 AM Author Posted September 17, 2019 at 02:58 AM 2 days late and was rejected. Are they going to keep the money?
Bubbacs Posted September 17, 2019 at 04:01 AM Posted September 17, 2019 at 04:01 AM Long answer, I have no ideaShort answer, more than likely! Those who applied for 5 plus years now havent gotten a refund when denied. But you say rejected, does that mean you can resubmit after taking the class all over again? Who knows, its illinois.....
Ludvik83 Posted September 17, 2019 at 04:06 AM Author Posted September 17, 2019 at 04:06 AM Yeah it said rejected. Now I have to find out if the original 16 hour course plus the renewal course count for anything towards the new course.
Bubbacs Posted September 17, 2019 at 04:53 PM Posted September 17, 2019 at 04:53 PM There are a few threads here about the training. Some say that the old 16 hour cert can be used! And others who have found out that they need to take the full 16 hour courses again.Either way the 3 hour won’t help iirc since you let it expire. No letter from the ISP?Check the portal and see if it says something along the lines of cert etc.......
Ludvik83 Posted September 17, 2019 at 05:50 PM Author Posted September 17, 2019 at 05:50 PM Nothing that I can see. I’ll be contacting ISP to find out how far they plan to stick it up my @$$.
Ludvik83 Posted September 17, 2019 at 05:55 PM Author Posted September 17, 2019 at 05:55 PM I just noticed there is an area at the bottom of the page now that says “Corrections required”. The it says “Insufficiant amount of training hours” with a link to “fix document”. I’m gonna have to call ISP and see if they will accept the original 16 hours. Not holding my breath on that, but at least they have given me options.

If you get it done in allowed time frame your app fee applies.

Not holding my breath on that, but at least they have given me options. If your original 16 included 8hrs NRA Basic and 8hrs IL CCL, I think you should at least get 8 hours credit.
Ludvik83 Posted September 18, 2019 at 10:13 PM Author Posted September 18, 2019 at 10:13 PM It did, and I would think so but it’s illinois, and the 16 hour course I took doesn’t count towards the same 16 hour course they are making me retake so who knows.
InterestedBystander Posted September 19, 2019 at 12:00 AM Posted September 19, 2019 at 12:00 AM If you received a separate 8 hr NRA Basic course cert along with IL training cert I see no reason your trainer should not give you 8 hrs credit. I understand not getting the full 16. I believe it is the trainer deciding if prior training applies within the courses permitted by the state.http://www.ilga.gov/commission/jcar/admincode/020/02001231ZZ9996BR.html
WitchDoctor Posted September 28, 2019 at 04:44 AM Posted September 28, 2019 at 04:44 AM According to my high-falutin' rocket surgeon cypherin' - my CCW is $150 to the State and is good for 5 years so it 'costs' me a whopping $2.50 a month. If I 'lost' a couple months by renewing early? I'm OK with that. But in reality, my new expiration date is 5 years from when my renewal went Active ( well after the original expired ) so I actually didn't lose a dime.Agreed. I renewed as soon as I could. To me the piece of mind was worth it.Whatever few dollars the state made, if you call it that, is less than I spend on a decent bottle of bourbon. I am with you there Lou, Old Forrester Prohibition Blend!
Ludvik83 Posted January 31, 2020 at 09:52 PM Author Posted January 31, 2020 at 09:52 PM Active as of today. That’s a mistake I’ll never make again.
