  1. Got my tickets today. Looking forward to it. VooDoo
  2. It always baffles my Illinois Liberal acquaintances when they begin to pontificate about abuse of the Constitution and I tell them that Illinois is literally trampling my 2nd, 5th, and 14th amendment Rights while blatantly ignoring SCOTUS precedent in the PICA Act. Most people, even in Illinois, have no idea that the Democrat Super Majority in Illinois is willfully trampling the Constitution wholesale and repeatedly while pointing the finger at others they deem to be Fascists and seeking to destroy American Democratic Process. Ya can't outshout a Democrat. That's a fact. VooDoo
  3. Train, train, train. I switched pistols, carry holsters, belts, clothing/dress (I carry Appendix), added optics and lost 30 pounds a few years ago to accommodate AIWB concealed carry. In my training and in my CCL class, I have come to view Open Carry as a "Shoot me First" advertisement - giving up my strategy of surprise at being well armed and trained is something I'm not gonna do. Maybe for others but, for me, moving to another State purely for Open Carry is a no go for me. But there are plenty of reasons to flee Illinois. Consider the options and choose. Then make your choices valid via training and modifications. It's gonna take a Lifestyle adaptation to make it all work. VooDoo
  4. https://thewilderness.com/product/easy-fit-frequent-flyer-belt/ Wilderness Tactical Frequent Flyer belt has been my choice for years now. VooDoo
  5. In some States, we are already infringed to the point of being virtually disarmed. Apparently SCOTUS doesn't care and is impotent or paid to see that we *are* infringed into oblivion. We have been had. VooDoo
  6. When transferring to an individual thru an FFL, it must be done in the State the transferee lives in. So, no, my Illinois FFL wanted nothing to do with it as she lives in Iowa....they could have transferred it from Illinois (for a fee) to Iowa but then we'd have to pay the Iowa FFL to process the transfer on their end when we picked up the pistols. My Illinois FFL told me that would be stupid since she lives 10 minutes away across the river in Iowa. In my case, where we live, I can just drive on over and do it. VooDoo
  7. .Just transferred 2 pistols to my GF who lives in Iowa. We drove to an Iowa FFL and completed the transfers legally and without hassle. Super thanks for your input on this, Euler! Girlfriend was shocked and pleased how easy it was for me to transfer pistols I purchased for us to test into her lawful possession. I have probably ruined her with my constant crabbing about FOID's, CCL's, and PICA's and all that. None of it applies to Iowa or it's residents. VooDoo
  8. All my banned stuff from Illinois is at my GF's place in Iowa, right across the river. It's high time I follow it and move out of Illinois. Born here and been here most of my Life but I firmly believe we will not get our banned semi autos back in this State. If we do, it will be years more down the road. Lost Faith and Hope, folks. VooDoo
  9. Curious - I wonder what might transpire legally if a family member is gifted a pistol with no paperwork and happens to have to use it in self defense. What happens if Momma shoots somebody with a gun that was sold/transferred initially to me? VooDoo
  10. Just tried again and it worked fine. So, I'm in and done. This is one of the many things I abhor about the NRA.....seems like everything connected to them is a PITA to navigate. The only reason I still belong is that membership is required to belong to the top end rifle club here locally. Otherwise, I'd have ceased to belong to the NRA years ago. The organization needs (desperately) people like Todd who have integrity and the ability to "get it done" the right way. Like sending seemingly endless prompts to re up my membership insinuating that my membership is about to lapse when, in fact, I *just* paid my membership dues and have months to go before I need to be reminded (harassed) to get it done. Gimme a break - fix the NRA. It's broken. VooDoo
  11. I might be odd man out but I'd prefer discussion and viewpoints of *why* someone likes/agrees or disagrees rather than mashing a button that displays my agreement or disagreement. I hang on discussion forums for the discussion and perspective of others. I think "likes" or whatever forms a basis for competition and that's not what I'm here for. I want yer perspective and verbiage and am after the interaction and all that. IMO/YMMV. VooDoo
  12. Yeah, things don't look good for the midterm elections at 100+ days into Trumps Administration. But there's yet lots of time for it to move around - swing voter and Independent opinion I mean. VooDoo
