mauserme Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:15 AM Author Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:15 AM Despite the legislature's overwhelming, bi-partisan support for HB183 Governor Quinn, after nearly four weeks of executive cogitation, now seeks to thwart the will of the people either via his amendatory veto or SA2 ro HB11. Today we meet with the hope of seeing the effect of the Governor's Message hitting the proverbial fan. Both House and Senate are scheduled for 11:00 AM today. As in the past, several bills remain on the calendar and are listed below, though we will not see action on most..

Mack Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:27 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:27 AM In before CCW override - big day.
defaultdotxbe Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:37 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:37 AM i know a lot of people are complaining about the time it will take before permits are issued, but think of the symbolism. 270 days (180 days for the ISP to accept applications plus 90 days to issue the permit) is 9 months. CCW is conceived today, and in 9 months it will be born
garyvong36 Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:41 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 05:41 AM Almost missed these threads. Oh yeah in BEFORE TY

Davey Posted July 9, 2013 at 08:59 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 08:59 AM TyGuy isn't first after Mauserme on possibly the greatest ILGA thread of all time? Giggle.
BBBSS Posted July 9, 2013 at 09:43 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 09:43 AM In for the latest chapter of this crazy show.
snooter Posted July 9, 2013 at 10:22 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 10:22 AM In for the latest chapter of this crazy show. nah its only the start..expect "trailers" (i think they are called that) to 183 to be filed after the law is in effect (in other words 10 round limit, 1 gun..bar/restaurant ban)....1 battle is today..but the war will not be won (they will never stop..they are like zombies) after todays action
Yas Posted July 9, 2013 at 10:41 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 10:41 AM Lets see if the legislators play this straight or if they give the people another reason to despise Chicago politics.
Dave D Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:33 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:33 AM He wouldn't miss this, he will be along shortly...
Dave D Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:46 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:46 AM So is the vote to override going to depend on how many show up today?
TyGuy Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:47 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:47 AM Nope, I am working weird hours right now so I am in bed early. I also am stuck in the lab all day, so I won't even be able to listen or follow along today. BOOOOO We'll see. I think we'll get the override, but I don't trust the ILGA, so if something weird happens and we don't get the CCW law passed I really won't be surprised. In before you know who. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HDI am he who must not be named?
TyGuy Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:47 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:47 AM Will blueroomstream have the video up for a few days so that I can watch it later?
TyGuy Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:48 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:48 AM I wish I could be doing this today: http://i.imgur.com/aVZgT.gif
Plinkermostly Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:48 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:48 AM I got Range Officer again today . . . but last time this happened the bill passed, so I think it is a good sign. If it rains, I may even make it home in time to watch.
Davey Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:50 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:50 AM I am he who must not be named? We're afraid you'll grow wings if we say your name too many times.
TyGuy Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:51 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 11:51 AM We're still neutral? Come on, the time for games is over, just list it as support. Silly politics. We know the vast majority of users support HB183 as does pretty much all the leadership. It's like Jay Carney saying the Obama administration doesn't support big government.
Joebie Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:04 PM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:04 PM Will blueroomstream have the video up for a few days so that I can watch it later? Yes, they should have it up, I know for, at the very least, the following day.
TyGuy Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:22 PM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:22 PM I'm gonna guess this thread will be between 22-25 pages by the end of the day
