Bud Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:38 PM Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:38 PM The Governor is very upset by the newspaper Editorial Board's criticism so a Bill outlying his veto will be put out tonight for a hearing in the Senate Executive Committiee hearing room for tomorrow at 10 AM. No vote is expected
Jfl0 Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:41 PM Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:41 PM Ah, ok. I had to read that twice over to understand it. The amendatory veto is in bill form. I think it's too late for Quinn. As for him being upset he can't defile the Constitution farther? "draws a tear down from his eye down his face" boo-hoo
cm.stites Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:43 PM Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:43 PM i think we should let em vote on it since it would take super majoritys... then watch him cry some more.
mobrules Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:44 PM Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:44 PM more details please Editorial board from the tribune or sun times? Or every other newspaper I have seen.

vezpa Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:58 PM Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:58 PM I don't like the fact that another bill is sitting there ready to go if necessary. While highly unlikely that anything becomes of it, another option IS on the table. .
Talonap Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:03 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:03 AM Its HB11 - SFA2. on the ILGA Exec Committee schedule for tomorrow. Witness slips?

fickenmeimirish Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:14 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:14 AM As I understand it sfa2 is just the amendatory vetos jello made right? Or is this something entirely separate? Is this a backdoor way to try to add these once 183 is overriden?
cm.stites Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:17 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:17 AM it could possibly be but since they are out of session it would take super majoritys to pass both houses..
Lou Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:20 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:20 AM As I understand it sfa2 is just the amendatory vetos jello made right? Or is this something entirely separate? Is this a backdoor way to try to add these once 183 is overriden? If you read the amendment it starts "If and only if HB183 becomes law the following changes will be made....." It looks like a follow up bill to change the RTC bill once it passes. Anyone else read it like that ?
BobPistol Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:22 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:22 AM Did they print it on Charmin? I hope it has the same result.....------------> FLUSH

Mr. Fife Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:26 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:26 AM I am in McDonald County Mo trying to figure out how to chop down two plus acres of third stage growth. Buy a goat. After he has cleared your acreage, sell him to a Greek restaurant.
cm.stites Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:28 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:28 AM yes its a follow up bill but if you look at the deadline date it would have to be voted on with a super majority no matter when they tried to.. and it only takes one dem saying no to kill it off. phelps, costello, verschoore, bradley, and smiddy at a minumum would be no's along with the republicans... its just to make quinn feel important when it has 0 chance of passing.
RANDY Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:29 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:29 AM It has a rule 2-10 third reading deadline of November 7, 2013, which puts it back in regular session, and a simple majority would pass it if I'm correct, which some days is very unlikely..
cm.stites Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:31 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:31 AM It has a rule 2-10 third reading deadline of November 7, 2013, which puts it back in regular session, and a simple majority would pass it. it would be in the "veto" session not regular session. october-november are the veto session. the "general" assembly doesnt convene until january.
Bud Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:32 AM Author Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:32 AM I have two electric chain saws and one gas. My son and I will commence chopping down the second stage trees tomorrow and hauling them out to an open field to dry. Then I will use a DR to mow down all the first stage growth so I can start grass. We should be done done by Wednesday,July 10, 2015
RANDY Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:33 AM Posted July 9, 2013 at 12:33 AM To cm.stites, I forgot that is the Veto session. I just keep thinking that since they are back in session, it would be business as usual.
