I've tried, really tried, to keep quiet, but...

Ladies and gents,

If you're in the fight of your life against pure pigs, and afraid to get muddy, get the heck out of the pit.

To Mauser, who has my love and respect, the Sandy Hook Parents are not sacrosanct. They have inserted themselves as props , into a fight in a state they have no voice in, and as such, have themselves given away any cover allowed by decent grief, and are willing shills pushing an agenda to deprive the people of Illinois of civil rights.

They are also, unless I miss my guess, financially compensated to do so. As mercenaries in this fight, they are undeserving of any cover of grief at all.

Todd, after the parents testimony, it would have been proper to thank them for their concern for the people and children of Illinois, but also proper to ask, where have your voices been about the ongoing slaughter in Chicago? By the way, and most importantly, it would have been proper to ask, Just how is it you came to be in Illinois, in a closed session meeting, and oh, by the way, who's picking up the tab???

Who paid your travel? Your food? Your lodging? Oh, and thanks for missing work just to help us yokels here in flyover country, by the way, anyone getting a per diem?

How many of you, even given your concern for us hayseeds, would be here today on your own dime?

The foul deeds at Sandy Hook, given police reponse time, didn't need a standard capacity magazine to accomplish...it would have been just as tragic if the perp had a musket and a butcher's knife. There was that much time to get it done.

There is a long standing tradition in New Orleans, of bringing out paid mourners to parade down the street at a funeral. Everyone knows it's theater, everyone knows that the one thing missing, is sincerity.

If we're going to be afraid of what people will say for us exposing paid props for what they are, then we should really quit, as this is a fight we don't have the guts to finish. One by one, state by state, the Second Amendment is done.

So, the AP was there. The same Ap that had no problem trying to expose the personal information of every FOID holder in the state, but the same AP that wants our shared outrage at an administration that violates the First Amendment...please join me as I piddle them a purple puddle.

Instead of skewing perception, and with 24/7 hammering of events like Sandy Hook, how about some honest reporting, that such incidents are down over 49% since their peak in 1993...too much to ask?

Remember, as you are being advised to be polite, courteous, and professional, that we are not in this against moral equals, who just share a difference of opinion. We are up against a creeping evil that is picking up speed, while we're still trying to win by rules the other side makes to slow us down, but they themselves, will never abide by.

Fight to win, opinion be damned.

Exactly this is a matter of life and death for us! Why should we be polite to people who would have us be disadvantaged against better armed criminals in our state?

Send this to every legislator in Illinois. Let them choke on its words for breakfast and have them think about their future in Politics!

Very nicely done. If I could write like that, I'd publish.

ANYBODY who considers themselves to be a true American should consider AND treat any progressive/liberal as an enemy of our Country/State. Your children's and grand children's future are at risk!

Guys, I understand how you feel but Todd verbally berating grieving parents who just lost their children months ago accomplishes nothing.

He handled the situation properly

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this really just to set the stage in the big show -- the full senate & house voting into law?

It's still a bill. My opinion is that they wasted their time and our money bringing in the Newtown parents at this stage.

Does anyone really think it will pass both the senate and the house?

Gentlemen and ladies,

Thanks for your kind response. I observe here every day, and am proud of the activism shown by so many new voices, and the continued patience and courage of those that have been here from the beginning.

Mrs. Colonel and I lost our 17 year old back in '96. Grief is not a license to go on a nationwide tour telling others how to live. It may be of some comfort to the grieving, but those who had no part in the loss, may show good upbringing by expressing sympathy, but no one, has a right to demand that sympathy, or impose themselves on others by virtue of their loss.

That shows a lack of said upbringing, but a lack of class is what I've come to expect.

A reloading project calls me back to the barn, I'll check back later.

Stay well and safe, one and all!!!

While I agree with you OP, anything and everything we say can and will be taken out of context or used against us by the other side. Contrary to the beliefs of some they do monitor this site clamoring for anything to use against us so respect needs to be given at all times no matter how passionate we ALL feel.

They do that anyway.Colonel said a mouthful, and it was what I was thinking all along; just didn't have the you know what to say it.

While I agree that they should have been here, blaming them maybe isn't the wisest thing to do. In my opinion, they honestly and sincerely believe that mag bans will make a difference, mostly because that is what they have been fed by the left and they don't have the drive, like most Americans, to find out the truth for themselves. Is that an excuse? Maybe not, but it certainly changes my opinion of the parents coming here. More importantly, the exploitation of these parents by legislators who have been CHARGED with the task of becoming informed, by virtue of the fact that they agreed to the position, solidifies the disgust I have for them. Do I blame the parents? Not so much, although there is some responsibility to be taken for using your position of sympathy for a cause you know nothing about, but instead I have a deep seated thorough disgust for the people who would exploit a grieving family for their agenda.

Wow! Just WOW!! Very well versed and anyone that doesn't agree with that is missing the point. If the opposition know that the people are going to take what is handed to them and not do anything about it, then the battle is lost. People have to fight to keep their rights and traditions in this day and age more so that they have had To in the past. The United States has been taken over by the socialist party without a shot being fired. Talk of a revolution scares some on this forum, yet this is where we are headed for. I just wonder how many of the true Patriots will take up arms and fight for the greatest country on the planet.

I am not a coward, a mouse or a hero. I am just an American that loves the United States. I do not agree with Obama or any of his clowns. They have ruined this country. I only hope there is enough good people left with enough intelligence to right the wrongs that Obama has initiated since he has took office. Do not get me wrong, I respect the office of President, but nothing says I have to respect the man.

Colonel, since you've addressed your thread primarily to me I'll give you a brief response.

I think it's safe to say we all feel the same frustration as you regarding the morally corrupt tactics employed by our opposition. It's also safe to say that allowing ourselves to sink to that level would, in the long run, work against us. We are portrayed as extremists for insisting our rights be respected. Questioning the motives of those parents would only play into that narrative just as it has for other groups. Remember, we do not control the message in the media, they do.

A lot of latitude is given to people posting off topic, sometimes random thoughts in the ILGA threads. In truth, there is seldom a week when I don't want to just tell people to zip it for a while. But the threads serve a better purpose when kept open to spontanious thought as long as those thoughts are near topic enough to contribute to our goals. Unfortunately some of yesterday's posts, while not off topic, seemingly would have been counterproductive enough to warrant their removal during a very fluid and difficult to predict period in the process of achieving things we all hope to achieve - posts that under other circumstances might have been left as they were.
