There are two conceivable reasons a tour the group obviously and desperately wants to generate publicity for would withhold that information. The first would be for security reasons, or at least that would be the excuse given if one wanted to portray gun owners who oppose Bloomberg’s self-financed crusade against the right of his countrymen to keep and bear arms as dangerous. If that is the case, it becomes fair to ask if the bus will be accompanied throughout its trip with armed security, or if local police resources will be dragooned (and reimbursed, so that taxpayers opposed to Bloomberg’s schemes won’t be required to help foot his bills). The second and more likely reason, considering the AstroTurf nature of Bloomberg ventures demonstrated time and again, would be to keep the grassroots from embarrassing his road show by mustering overwhelming support for gun rights and against citizen disarmament, and stealing the spotlight at what were to be carefully-controlled staged events. What this looks like is calculated willing media exploitation -- get the bus tour on the local news, get a lot of exposure from friendly "Authorized Journalists" on friendly turf to create the impression of widespread grassroots support -- and then move on, doing it in a way to minimize the chances of the opposition having time to mount an effective counter-protest. In other words, it will be a continuation of the M.O. Bloomberg continually employs as to make support for his personal fetish appear much larger and more intense than it is, and to make opposition appear negligible.

But we have to be careful about false alarms. I AM making special signs to welcome them. Any suggestions? 3 to 5 words, and remember, this has to be "televison safe". 60 to 80 signs, some the old standards, entirely too many new.... and they jumped from New Orleans, La to Phoenix, Az over the holiday. Then Douglas, Az (ain't they havin a HEATWAVE over there???)("only mad dogs and englishmen"???) so it could be ANYTIME...

Think about it this way: if he can get $10,000.00 in donations from 2000 people, he can throw in a half million and says "In just one summer over two thousand people donated more than $500,000.00 to our efforts!"

Their website has a signup where they say you can get a last minute alert to when & where they are showing up. So there is a way for us to "crash the party," as it were. It appears to be zip code based, so to get worthwhile coverage, we'd have to sign up folks from a lot of areas: http://nomorenames.org/ But then I worry if even signing up might give them phony numbers to brag about. Thoughts? Should we "crash the party?" Or ignore the party?

He was curious so he pulled in the parking lot to take a look at it. What struck him was that they had three, yes three, security guards who were FULLY ARMED with SEMI-AUTO PISTOLS keeping people at a distance from the bus. So...let me get this straight...MAIG says guns are bad...and guns are the cause of so many of the ills in society...but their anti-gun protest vehicle needs people with guns to protect it...guns we shouldn't have to protect ourselves and our families. Maybe MAIG should change their motto to "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun"...err, apologies, I think that's already taken. One day, hopefully soon, MAIG will collapse under the weight of their own hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy is one of the most effective weapons we have in the PR war for our gun rights, or any of the other major ideological struggles going on at the moment, left versus right, conservative versus liberal, etc. People have a visceral, built-in negative reaction to finding out their supposed leaders have a double standard, one for themselves and one for the "little people." Exposing hypocrisy totally undermines the moral authority of phony do-gooders. It would be like the Baptist preacher preaching against alchohol and gambling while having a secret bar and casino running out of his home. Good luck with keeping the congregation in line after the hypocrisy is exposed. So yes, it does matter.

Well, you can't edit it to rephrase it, I REALLY hope you were speaking in the rhetorical sense about INFORMATION damage, and not condoning vandalism. Like: find out where the physical bus came from, who owns it, leases it and so forth... could they or someone associated in the chain be the recipients of a boycott, shy away from adverse publicity, etc?

I did not mean to condone any physical violence, vandalism or imply that anyone should physically do anything to their bus or anyone associated with the tour. Reading my message again I can see how it could be easily misunderstood, and that's my fault entirely. I should have worded my comment to be more clear. My whole point was that we should damage their ability to spew out all of this anti-gun propaganda by showing how hypocritical they are. Use the pen, the camera, email...but definitely not any sort of violent and illegal/immoral behavior. My sincere apologies to everyone for any misunderstanding.
