mathewg Posted January 28, 2015 at 03:36 PM Posted January 28, 2015 at 03:36 PM I completed my CCL class sunday, went and did prints and filled out my entire app yesterday. I know it takes at least 30 days because thats how long PDs have to fight it, but other than the 30 days what are realistic times of getting my license? I was told with the weird spelling of my name (Mathew), being the only person with my actual name in the US, and doing prints it probably would be a quick process with me, since I am 23 and the worst thing on my record is a single speeding ticket. Every time I ask someone I know that got theirs a few months ago with prints ranged from 35 days to 89 days. My concern for this is we are planning a trip to see my wifes family in Rockford after our son is born. We plan to go around April 11. Is there a chance of me having it by then?
Glock23 Posted January 28, 2015 at 03:44 PM Posted January 28, 2015 at 03:44 PM Assuming there are no objections, you'll likely have your CCL by the first or second week of March.
mathewg Posted January 28, 2015 at 03:50 PM Author Posted January 28, 2015 at 03:50 PM Thats what I was hoping. Thanks
Trevis Posted January 28, 2015 at 04:37 PM Posted January 28, 2015 at 04:37 PM Mine was a while back, and with prints it was 37 days.
DomG Posted January 28, 2015 at 04:52 PM Posted January 28, 2015 at 04:52 PM Wow it has gotten streamlined. The initial bunch took just over 2 months with prints last year.

Rockford is becoming infamous for violence, don't blame you. Not a lot of postings either unless you need to buy some thread from Joann Fabrics. (dumbest place I've seen posted).

I think that about ties JoAnne's.
mathewg Posted January 28, 2015 at 05:31 PM Author Posted January 28, 2015 at 05:31 PM Either way, I have always had a gun in a console close to me with a loaded mag next to it in that horrible city. I just would prefer to have it on my side walking through the mall or anywhere really up there. That was my main concern was to have it by Apr 11. Around here, I would still like to have one on my side, but it's not as bad as up there... yet.

I don't know if it's meant to be serious or not, but I think that might beat the posted copier store and JoAnne's for absurdity if it is in earnest.
mathewg Posted January 28, 2015 at 05:52 PM Author Posted January 28, 2015 at 05:52 PM Hey, comic book guys get serious about that stuff. My cousin would probably shoot someone over a few of his comics...
DomG Posted January 28, 2015 at 05:54 PM Posted January 28, 2015 at 05:54 PM I love when people ask me, "Why do you need a gun at ________? (church, restaurant, driving, etc.) My reply is always, "If I knew when and where I would be attacked, I wouldn't go there. You must be special to know how to avoid all the places where you would be attacked."

mathewg Posted January 28, 2015 at 06:00 PM Author Posted January 28, 2015 at 06:00 PM If it isn't the official no gun sign, does it still count? I thought it had to be their specific stupid sign.

I thought it had to be their specific stupid sign. The ISP template is provided as an example, which many choose to use, but technically it can be any black handgun.

HeavyDuty Posted January 29, 2015 at 02:20 PM Posted January 29, 2015 at 02:20 PM Probably application number 114,105. I don't know if they recycle abandoned app numbers.

There is a recycling center in Carbondale Illinois that has a CPZ sign. They take donations of bottles, cans, paper and glass, don't even buy any of these things. Maybe they're worried about someone stealing cardboard or aluminum cans at gun point.
mathewg Posted February 24, 2015 at 02:21 PM Author Posted February 24, 2015 at 02:21 PM Digging up my old post instead of starting a new one for a quick question. The 26th, thursday of this week, is my 30 days. If there are no objections by then I should be in the clear and it just becomes a waiting game? There aren't any loop holes or anything they can screw with me on except for taking 90 days if the really want to right?
