I'll be there. Missed the last one when I was laid up from an accident. Won't miss this one.

Though ironically I just moved a few blocks north and I'm not sure if he's still my rep. I'll have to look that up tonight.

The anti-gunners inOak Park whined about the meeting not being on their side of the tracks, so here we go again.

If the locals in the District show up again, i'm sure we will do well. They carried it last time, they just need to do it again.

Ford's district crosses the Chicago - Oak Park boundary.

If he really wants a representation of public opinion, he should hold a referendum. At this point it's just a contest to see how many people either side can stuff in a room.

At his last Right to Carry town hall meeting he had a panel presenting both sides.

Well that's good. It seems that he's quite sincere in his efforts to ascertain the truth.

I do not think the struggle for civil rights should be a popularity contest.

Agreed! We're demanding the reinstatement of our rights!!! Not electing a Prom King!! Seems some might have forgotten that in our last Presidential election too!

Keep demanding, but I think this particular representative is following the democratic process, seeking the will of his constituents. I agree that it's our right, but we have a problem with the other half of the population disagreeing with us pretty consistently. I don't think simply demanding has gotten us this far.

Maybe demanding isn't the right word. But demanding through many different ways. Not simply standing up and saying it's our right. Even though it is a right as defined in the U.S. Constitution and as endowed to us by simply being a person.

Rights should not be voted upon. MO found that out with a referendum that went bad and set them back 10 years. We can't afford ANOTHER 10 year set back. We're 20 years behind the times now.

We shoulda' had CCW back in '93 but for a RINO/Turncoat ® Governor that is from my home district and seems to have the blessing of all the public right now. For some reason, the whole state seems to think that the sun rises and sets in Edgar's backside. Maybe it's because he's the only recent former governor we have that doesn't get his mail delivered to a cell!! But, perhaps that's only because he didn't get caught!!

Sorry, went off topic there. Rant off, back to work!!

Never put a constitutional right up for a vote. We learned this the hard way in Missouri during the 1999 election! It set us back 4 years and had to override One Term Bob Holden's veto of CCW in 2003.
