mstrat Posted October 3, 2011 at 10:13 PM Posted October 3, 2011 at 10:13 PM I'll be there. Missed the last one when I was laid up from an accident. Won't miss this one. Though ironically I just moved a few blocks north and I'm not sure if he's still my rep. I'll have to look that up tonight. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Sigma Posted October 3, 2011 at 10:37 PM Posted October 3, 2011 at 10:37 PM why? Didnt he get it last time? Is he going to keep trying until he gets a majority to say they are against LTC?
Tvandermyde Posted October 3, 2011 at 10:45 PM Posted October 3, 2011 at 10:45 PM The anti-gunners inOak Park whined about the meeting not being on their side of the tracks, so here we go again. If the locals in the District show up again, i'm sure we will do well. They carried it last time, they just need to do it again.

oneshot Posted October 4, 2011 at 03:19 AM Posted October 4, 2011 at 03:19 AM If he really wants a representation of public opinion, he should hold a referendum. At this point it's just a contest to see how many people either side can stuff in a room.

It seems that he's quite sincere in his efforts to ascertain the truth.
mikew Posted October 4, 2011 at 12:30 PM Posted October 4, 2011 at 12:30 PM If he really wants a representation of public opinion, he should hold a referendum. I do not think the struggle for civil rights should be a popularity contest.

Seems some might have forgotten that in our last Presidential election too! AB
oneshot Posted October 4, 2011 at 01:43 PM Posted October 4, 2011 at 01:43 PM Keep demanding, but I think this particular representative is following the democratic process, seeking the will of his constituents. I agree that it's our right, but we have a problem with the other half of the population disagreeing with us pretty consistently. I don't think simply demanding has gotten us this far.

I agree that it's our right, but we have a problem with the other half of the population disagreeing with us pretty consistently. I don't think simply demanding has gotten us this far. Maybe demanding isn't the right word. But demanding through many different ways. Not simply standing up and saying it's our right. Even though it is a right as defined in the U.S. Constitution and as endowed to us by simply being a person. Rights should not be voted upon. MO found that out with a referendum that went bad and set them back 10 years. We can't afford ANOTHER 10 year set back. We're 20 years behind the times now. We shoulda' had CCW back in '93 but for a RINO/Turncoat ® Governor that is from my home district and seems to have the blessing of all the public right now. For some reason, the whole state seems to think that the sun rises and sets in Edgar's backside. Maybe it's because he's the only recent former governor we have that doesn't get his mail delivered to a cell!! But, perhaps that's only because he didn't get caught!! Sorry, went off topic there. Rant off, back to work!! AB

Rant off, back to work!! AB Never put a constitutional right up for a vote. We learned this the hard way in Missouri during the 1999 election! It set us back 4 years and had to override One Term Bob Holden's veto of CCW in 2003.
Smittyp83 Posted October 11, 2011 at 05:38 PM Posted October 11, 2011 at 05:38 PM I believe there was just a series of attacks on women in Rep Ford's district. I'd bet those women would have liked to been able to protect themselves.

mikew Posted October 12, 2011 at 11:22 PM Posted October 12, 2011 at 11:22 PM Walsh is rattling off the *OMG* long list of places where people might carry "concealed loaded firearms", including parks and Farmers Markets.
