Moms' Demand is taking the same strategy from DUI laws..

let's say you're trying out your friends Ford Mustang, like most people, you'll drive like a Chicagoan..weaving in-between lanes..

that alone qualifies you for a DUI arrest and potentially probable cause for the arresting officer..

so that's the logic behind and assault weapon ban..

it's not about saving lives, it's about putting more people in perpetual trouble where they have to

spend more time and resources proving their innocence..

it won't be door to door, it will simply start and end at traffic stops..

so that's why we need to fight hard in the courts, because once you're pulled over with this bill,

they will absolutely arrest and charge you with a felony and because you have to disclose if you're

carrying concealed they will use that to successfully prosecute you, along with the DUI charges

and minor traffic violations..

Important reminder, Your CCL shows up in LEADS, so if they are randomly running plates and you pop up as a CCL holder, they might want to check what your carrying. So that’s one way they will be able to enforce things and randomly ruin peoples days.

Im basing that off of this thread.

Honestly... anyone who drives like a jack rabbit, such as you describe, deserves to be pulled over and has brought such perpetual trouble upon himself. Or herself. And most get off far to easy. Some books should be thrown...!

Cheers,

Tim

And what is to keep this from becoming a “firearm” checkpoint in which you do not have the right to remain silent?

There's nothing in that link that says a driver's right to remain silent is forfeited at a sobriety checkpoint.
