mauserme Posted November 29, 2022 at 12:47 AM Author Share Posted November 29, 2022 at 12:47 AM Today is the first of three scheduled days remaining in the 2022 Veto Session. When the legislature last met, the Senate moved HB5004 Noncitizen Statutory Reference out of the Assignments Committee and placed it back on the calendar at third reading. As introduced, the bill replaces the word “alien” with “noncitizen” in various areas of Illinois law along with other stylistic changes, including in the FOID Act. House Amendment 1 introduces further euphemisms by deleting “noncitizen” and/or changing “noncitizen” to “individual”. We'll continue to list both “assault weapon” bills in our daily topics, with little to no expectation of seeing movement on either. The House and the Senate are scheduled for 12:00 Noon today. Next Days Scheduled House: 11/30/2022 Senate: 11/30/2022 House Calendar Senate Calendar

I don't think we'll be doing that during the verto session as neither bill seems likely to get a committee hearing right now. Next year may be different.
