ChicagoRonin70 Posted October 12, 2017 at 05:29 AM Share Posted October 12, 2017 at 05:29 AM My search algorithm popped this up for me, and upon watching it, it occurred to me that not only is this woman, a Caribbean-American immigrant who is pro Second Amendment, extremely astute on the subject, she articulates some rather ironclad arguments on the futility of emotion-based firearm banning, but she is also exactly the demographic nexus that progressives/Democrats/left-wing sorts celebrates. If the NRA, or any pro-firearm group, were to embrace her and make her the spokes-face of this subject, and put the force of their resources behind her, they would have a juggernaut that would dumbfound most of the idiotic arguments for gun control. Seriously.
Trevis Posted October 12, 2017 at 06:46 AM Share Posted October 12, 2017 at 06:46 AM Don't let the NRA water down the powerful messages we need. They're circling the drain, with their rubbery spines, selling their members out with the Vegas issues. They used to be good, they used to be powerful, and they do some good things in court, but they're failing to stand firm against the rhetoric of the day. TRJ Posted October 12, 2017 at 02:41 PM Share Posted October 12, 2017 at 02:41 PM That young lady has it together !She has life experience to color her thoughts too. She's not just regurgitating theory from something she read, she's experienced the government and thugs being armed while her family was not. FYI, the NRA does have somebody with similar life experience. https://www.nratv.com/series/freedoms-safest-place/episode/freedoms-safest-place-season-1-episode-13-venezuela https://www.nratv.com/series/commentators/episode/commentators-season-4-episode-16-i-speak-in-the-name-of-freedom
Odinson Posted October 12, 2017 at 05:05 PM Share Posted October 12, 2017 at 05:05 PM She is good but maybe a bit misinformed - Jamaica does not have a firearm prohibition, just very strict laws (and a ton of corruption) governing private ownership of firearms for self-protection and hunting (only doves). The FLA even regulates ammo - buy 50 shells at the range, turn in 50 casings when you are done. http://www.firearmlicensingauthority.com/apply/app-procedures.html She is so right about the homemade firearms. These mostly fire shotgun shells and are made with a lot of duct and electrical tape... They post pictures of the confiscated guns on their on-line newspapers and even the numbers and calibers of bullets confiscated - most confiscations result in either no arrest made or death by cop. ChicagoRonin70 Posted October 12, 2017 at 05:11 PM Author Share Posted October 12, 2017 at 05:11 PM I am wondering if this can be sent to someone in a major firearm advocacy group and have many of us encourage them to reach out to this young woman?
