  1. Aren't there something like 8 days/year that background checks aren't run?
  2. Yes we can. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/cook-co-sheriff-demands-change-to-ammo-sales-regulations/ar-AAY96y8?bk=1&bk=1&ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=dce582b49bd847ae90f03e317839c5ae
  3. I think Gary Rabine is the only R candidate not being accused of being political party fluid.
  4. The entire stretch of Jackson Blvd from Austin through Garfield Park is full of JB lawn signs, some intersections have them on all four corners. Seems like more are put up every day. Digging deep to get the hard inner-city vote. I bet they'll have tent rallies before the primary to give stuff away. I also feel like Ken Griffen is throwing so much money at Irvin so that Irvin will win the primary and lose in a landslide to the Governor. Besides this crazy theory, I can't believe he would back the worst of the three candidates - Rabine, Bailey and Irvin. Griffen has shown some other RINO actions like the $1M he gave to the Obama Foundation in 2017.
  5. Are these polls that Irvin is citing or actual polls? I've only seen that Emerson College poll and that one had Irvin at 24% and Bailey at 20%.
  6. Gov Pritzker's yard signs came out this weekend. Yellow and blue - he's a shoe in for the Ukrainian vote.
  7. No input, sorry. Just a bit surprised someone owns pistols in Canada. Sounds like a keeper though!
  8. Was this just a ruse to make the legislators think that someone with a scary gun was coming for them and they should vote away more of our rights?
  9. Pretty sure they are mailing out the linear flow, rapid tests for antigens that you do yourself. PCR tests would have to go to a lab for processing.
  10. 9mm handgun goes off at Walmart checkout in Massachusetts (msn.com) 'went off'? Nope, trigger was pulled.
  11. My reply did go through on my first try so I got that going for me.
  12. It is. Besides leaving my driver's license in Georgia, I exhibited more incompetence right here in front of everyone. I hit the Submit button and got the error message that I get every time I try to open something on the new Forum . So I went out, went back in (as I do every time I try to open a thread) and then hit Submit again. I immediately saw I was being duplicitous and then could not find a way to delete one of the two identical posts. I believe my replies (like this one) go through on the first shot - I am going to test that right now.
  13. It looks like from the TSA's website that a CCL may work as ID. My DL disappeared itself this weekend and I was able to get home from ATL using only my CCL. So either the AA agent and the TSA agent both thought it was valid or it really is valid. Does anyone know for sure? Here is the statement from the TSA, their website where it came from is below that. Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent) Identification | Transportation Security Administration (tsa.gov) Just read the fine print, a weapons permit (=CCL?) is not valid! I guess I really lucked out, did not want to spend any more time in Atlanta. A weapon permit is not an acceptable form of identification. A temporary driver's license is not an acceptable form of identification.

  15. Dangerous to shop there too. Glad he's a poor shot and a worse driver. https://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/2018/08/15/several-injured-shootings-after-dispute-pennsylvania-walmart-checkout-line WYNCOTE, Pa. — An armed Walmart customer opened fire during a dispute with another customer while checking out, wounding several people before fleeing the store near Philadelphia. The suspect was later arrested after crashing into a squad car, police said Tuesday night. The victims suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening in the shooting, reported just after 6 p.m. Tuesday in the crowded store at the Cedarbrook Plaza Shopping Center, Cheltenham Township Police Chief John Frye said. Frye said the gunfire started after some type of argument between customers in separate lines near the cash register, when "words were exchanged" and the suspect pulled a gun from his female companion's waistband and fired "at least 10 shots." Two women in their 40s and a man in his 40s were wounded in the legs and another person had a graze wound, while a fifth person later went to a hospital with unspecified injuries. In addition, a pregnant woman was taken to the hospital after a fall, the police chief said. Frye said it wasn't immediately clear whether the person the man was arguing with was among the victims. The male suspect and his female companion fled, tossing the gun from the car, but then ran into a police vehicle. Two officers whose vehicle was rear-ended were taken to hospitals along with the woman in the suspect's car, while the male suspect was also arrested after being hit with a stun gun when he tried to break the window of the police vehicle, a Philadelphia police spokesman said. The officers, suspect and female passenger were in stable condition, he said. Frye called the shooting a "very dangerous situation," given that it was a "very crowded Walmart, a lot of shots were low, the floor is hard ... there's a risk of ricochet." More than 22 police departments were called to the scene, Frye said. "We are relieved that an arrest has been made and thankful that injuries sustained by three of our associates and a customer are non-life-threatening. Local authorities acted quickly and did an outstanding job. Our focus remains on supporting our associates and continuing to assist law enforcement," Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove said.
  16. Phew! I knew about all of these already! Thanks for making that happen Molly (via this forum) and thanks for posting this.
  17. Not a real abduction? I put my kids in the trunk to teach them how to escape but somehow, I don't think this is the same. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/05/21/woman-seen-trying-to-escape-from-trunk-at-virginia-walmart-before-men-force-her-back-in.html Police in Virginia say a woman believed to have been abducted outside a Walmart was found safe Monday night after what officers are calling a "planned hoax." Chesterfield County Police tweeted that the female, who was seemingly kidnapped in the parking lot of a Supercenter Sunday night, "walked into the Hull Street Police Station this evening (May 21) after seeing herself on local media outlets," and was "safe and unharmed." Police said surveillance footage captured the female, who's now "safe and unharmed," escaping the vehicle and running away from a group of men, who seemingly forced her back into the car. She showed up at the station with "one of the men involved in this incident," police said. Authorities previously alerted that around 9 p.m. on Sunday witnesses reported seeing what appeared to be an abduction. Bystanders said that a four-door seafoam green sedan with Virginia license plates and two different kinds of hubcaps pulled up outside the store. As a man approached the car and opened one of its doors, "a female jumped out of the trunk and fled." The department wrote on Facebook that two men got out of the car and chased after the woman, described as black and between the ages of 15 and 20 years old with her hair pulled back. The men caught the woman, "who struggled as they forced her through the parking lot and back into the vehicle," police said, before they drove quickly from the scene.
  18. I'm going with the Benchmade Mini-barrage. Blade is pretty close to the legal length and am real happy with my Mini-griptilian. But does blade length limit change with this law too? The Mini-barrage isn't an auto knife fyi. It's a spring assisted opener that's perfectly legal in the state today. Great knife, but if you're looking for an auto, that's not one. Thanks man. I learn something new every day on this site. Back to the Benchmade site...
