C0untZer0 Posted February 4, 2014 at 11:29 PM Posted February 4, 2014 at 11:29 PM I really need this range. Barry is putting hundreds of CCW classes through Article II, it doesn't matter if you make a reservation or not, you still have an hour wait, no place to park, the ventilation system is past capacity. Gun smoke hangs in the air and God knows what the lead levels are like with so many people shooting there - Article II seems to be running at capacity morning noon and night.
peterszl Posted February 5, 2014 at 01:09 AM Posted February 5, 2014 at 01:09 AM thanks for the e-mail there are two different posts going on this site for sorry if I have repeated myself

InterestedBystander Posted February 20, 2014 at 11:11 PM Posted February 20, 2014 at 11:11 PM Any news on this??? http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=43614&st=30#entry665405 No vote tonight. Next meeting April 15 at golf course.
Xwing Posted February 21, 2014 at 05:22 PM Posted February 21, 2014 at 05:22 PM I wish they wouldn't have these meetings during the week. I'd really like to go, but keep on having timing conflicts w/ work. Please post the next updates and where one can do the most good in this issue... I live near (but not in) Bloomingdale. Does having support from not w/in the town seem to help, or seem to be neutral? (since we obviously can't vote for Bloomingdale city positions.)
domin8 Posted February 21, 2014 at 06:49 PM Posted February 21, 2014 at 06:49 PM I have been following this, but kept silent because I want site how it would effect me, or if my opinion was worth anything on the subject. Turns out all I needed to do was find out where Bloomingdale was. I would go to this range. It looks like it might be closer for me than Article 2. Maxon's is still the closest, but I'll shoot anywhere.
TRJ Posted February 21, 2014 at 07:44 PM Posted February 21, 2014 at 07:44 PM I wish they wouldn't have these meetings during the week. Does having support from not w/in the town seem to help, or seem to be neutral? (since we obviously can't vote for Bloomingdale city positions.)It helps. Bloomingdale wants to be the one stop shopping place for the surrounding area. They love when you pay sales taxes in their town, so if the range entices you to spend more in Bloomingdale that's all they need to hear.
chevsuz12 Posted April 13, 2014 at 03:37 PM Author Posted April 13, 2014 at 03:37 PM The third and hopefully final zoning hearing for "The Range Bloomingale" will be held next Tuesday, April 15, 2014. 7:00pm Location: Bloomingdale Golf Club181 Glen Ellyn Rd, Bloomingdale, IL(630) 529-3380 We expect final approval from the zoning commission, the next step would be seeking approval from the full board of trustees. Public support is encouraged!
chevsuz12 Posted April 15, 2014 at 11:52 PM Author Posted April 15, 2014 at 11:52 PM Bump....meeting starts in a few minutes. About 60 people here so far.
samwiii Posted April 16, 2014 at 01:26 AM Posted April 16, 2014 at 01:26 AM Good luck! I work in Wheaton and will definitely become a customer if the Bloomingdale range opens!
gixxermaniak Posted April 16, 2014 at 01:30 AM Posted April 16, 2014 at 01:30 AM Wish I wasn't at work.... How's it going?

chevsuz12 Posted April 16, 2014 at 01:51 AM Author Posted April 16, 2014 at 01:51 AM Same Back and forth, im not against guns, but........not in my backyard arguments. There should be a vote tonight though.
Zud Posted April 16, 2014 at 03:38 PM Posted April 16, 2014 at 03:38 PM Just saw that the Planning Committee denied the proposal 5 to 1. Now the village board has to decide.
Tango7 Posted April 18, 2014 at 02:09 PM Posted April 18, 2014 at 02:09 PM Just saw that the Planning Committee denied the proposal 5 to 1. Now the village board has to decide. Yeah - the news clip I read mentioned how close it was to a neighborhood....
samwiii Posted April 19, 2014 at 03:42 AM Posted April 19, 2014 at 03:42 AM If the range is denied, I for one will not spend one more red cent in Bloomingdale. Not for gas, in their restaurants, or at the mall. My feeling is that the village's action would deserve the same treatment as those who post No Guns. If the prospect of added revenue doesn't persuade them, then perhaps lost revenue will.

C0untZer0 Posted April 20, 2014 at 01:10 PM Posted April 20, 2014 at 01:10 PM I live in West Chicago and they put a strip club out by DuPage Airport. Everyone fought it. But the bottom line was that neither the town nor the citizens had the power to deny the land owner their property rights. I can't see how Bloomingdale is going to get away with not allowing a firing range.
Zud Posted May 13, 2014 at 04:06 PM Posted May 13, 2014 at 04:06 PM Any updates on their progress? Or is this been shot dead? (Sorry for the pun.)
TRJ Posted May 13, 2014 at 04:50 PM Posted May 13, 2014 at 04:50 PM I live in West Chicago and they put a strip club out by DuPage Airport. Everyone fought it. But the bottom line was that neither the town nor the citizens had the power to deny the land owner their property rights. I can't are how Bloomingdale is going to get away with not allowing a firing range. It's of worth noting, the strip club referenced is now gone, eminent domain invoked and a turn lane installed where their building stood. All that is left is the valet key box as a monument to what was.The city may not be able to deny property rights, but it doesn't mean they won't get their way eventually. West Chicago installed a red light camera on the approach to the strip club. They ran DUI checks on North Ave just outside. There were issues with licensing and inspection and lawsuits. The just did all they could to send the message that they weren't welcome.
Zud Posted May 13, 2014 at 06:43 PM Posted May 13, 2014 at 06:43 PM And now all those poor girls cannot make money to get through college. I guess West Chicago doesn't want their kids to go to college.
