kwc Posted December 13, 2016 at 03:32 PM Posted December 13, 2016 at 03:32 PM Per Illinois State Police response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, as of the end of the day on Nov 30, 2016, there were 209,127 active FCCLs and 2,078,895 active FOID cards. The first table below captures the current cumulative totals, as of end of day Nov 30, 2016, for Illinois Concealed Carry Licenses (CCLs) issued to nonresidents and residents since the program began. Note that these totals represent the total number ISSUED, and are not adjusted for those that have since been revoked or cancelled. This table also includes totals for CCLs that have been denied, revoked, or currently awaiting action from the Concealed Carry Licensing Review Board (CCLRB). The paragraph below the table shows the number of CCLs and FOID cards currently active, accounting for those that have since been inactivated. The second table provides a trend analysis based on prior FOIA requests. Some notable observations: * The backlog of CCLs pending CCLRB review rose by 76 in Nov (from 2,407 to 2,483). * 7,783 CCL applications were submitted in Nov (average 259/day). * The total number of active FCCL licensees rose by 2,353 in Nov (from 206,774 to 209,127). All new licenses were issued to residents. * The number of active FOID holders rose by 5,908 in Nov (from 2,072,987 to 2,078,895). WARFACE Posted December 13, 2016 at 04:03 PM Posted December 13, 2016 at 04:03 PM Thanks kwc. Appreciate your toils.
RandyP Posted December 13, 2016 at 04:24 PM Posted December 13, 2016 at 04:24 PM I think I'm still rather surprised by the low number of CCls after all the 'hoopla' over the new law. Are instructors still able to make a buck as they anticipated or have a number of them stopped bothering?

Are instructors still able to make a buck as they anticipated or have a number of them stopped bothering? There is some money to be made, but, for some of us, it wasn't about trying to get rich instructing. The numbers I have in the CC classes have slowed now. I typically only have about 8-10 per class. but I have had a recent uptick on other classes, for those wanting more training then just the requisites.
OrlandInstructor Posted December 13, 2016 at 06:35 PM Posted December 13, 2016 at 06:35 PM Appreciate your work on keeping us updated.
cola490 Posted December 13, 2016 at 08:44 PM Posted December 13, 2016 at 08:44 PM Since we will be coming up on the 3rd anniversary of the 1st CCL's being issued, is there any talk about the renewal classes?
Hap Posted December 13, 2016 at 11:47 PM Posted December 13, 2016 at 11:47 PM In September, after kwc posted that batch of numbers, I pointed out One trend buried in the data is worth commenting on. At the beginning of 2015, about 5% of FOID holders had CCLs. By the end of last year, about 7.4% of FOID holders had CCLs. Now the total is approaching 10% and may well exceed 10% by the end of the year. These percentages keep growing even as the number of FOID holders also continues to increase. With 2,078,895 active FOIDs and 209,127 active FCCLs we're at 10.06% and there's still a month left in the year.
RacerDave6 Posted December 14, 2016 at 12:21 AM Posted December 14, 2016 at 12:21 AM I wish we could get 10% of the FOID card holders to join the ISRA, or show up to IGOLD. THAT would get some attention from the lawbreakers...um, I mean lawmakers.
