aka Posted May 18, 2017 at 10:04 PM Share Posted May 18, 2017 at 10:04 PM Hi, Has anyone looked into the new insurance plan from NRA - NRA Carry Guard. They do not have the insurance fine print on the website. If you have the terms and conditions (that is the fine print) can you please post it here. If you have purchased it - please describe your thoughts on it compared to other policies. Thanks.

It looked like USCCA was miles ahead.I think that cheat sheet before NRA announced NRA Carry Guard last month. Yes, the NRA product was not competitive before NRA Carry Guard announced last month. USCCA was my choice until NRA Carry Guard was introduced. I bought the Gold plan after reviewing this website. https://www.nracarryguard.com/ I'm not sure if it contains the "fine print" Arvind is looking for. The terms and price seemed much closer to USCCA to me. The deal maker for me was being able to 1) add my spouse to my plan, no-charge, and 2) the additional leverage NRA might be able to provide. Arvind, I think the website will show their insurance company is Chubb which has a good reputation to me. I remember reading a Chubb document. If it's not on the website, I'd suggest calling them to get it.
soylentgreen Posted May 19, 2017 at 07:42 PM Share Posted May 19, 2017 at 07:42 PM I currently carry USCCA Platinum. I'm not bashing any other companies or anyone else's choice. But, it seems to me the NRA entering this arena would send a chill into the industry. Just the NRA name is going to draw a lot of people. My lawyer works closely with the USCCA and is a member himself. I won't make any change until verifying with him. I have not seen the details of the NRA plan and pricing yet.
aka Posted May 20, 2017 at 05:10 PM Author Share Posted May 20, 2017 at 05:10 PM Thanks everyone. I appreciate the input. I tried calling the NRA to get the "fine" print document to read it but was told to call back when the "specialists" were available. Will try to do that next week. OldMarineVet Posted May 20, 2017 at 10:14 PM Share Posted May 20, 2017 at 10:14 PM Arivind, I remember reading a document regarding insurance but not able to find it. Might have been part of the enrollment process. Thinking it might not be in the detail you are looking for if they are telling you to call back to talk to a "specialist." Lockton is the carrier that covers the standard gun theft insurance we get with NRA membership I believe.

Chubb® carries an AM Best financial rating of A+ XV and is the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company. InterestedBystander Posted June 19, 2017 at 04:33 AM Share Posted June 19, 2017 at 04:33 AM Perhaps slightly off topic from their insurance program but seemed relevaant to their training programs. Does this image make you want to sign up for one of their carry classes? http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/NRA-Carry-Guard-small-640x437.png http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2017/05/03/potd-nra-carry-guard-director-curriculum/ Sorry he has a deformed right hand due to a grenade accident, but... cut him some slack or hold to a higher standard? However, it's been rumored that the injury prevents a straight finger. Personally, the safety, safety, safety preachiness gets a little old. Trigger discipline is important; especially reloading, reholstering, and any time you're not on the firing line. But the comments I've seen about this image that portrays a real life human drawing to shoot on a range are over the top.
