lostspring Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:33 PM Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:33 PM I have been trying to process my sons application but I can't get past digital id. It says it is checking Java but doesn't appear to do anything. I can go the out of state id ap and it works fine. I downloaded the latest Java. I have tried with Firefox and Explorer 11. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or give me a nudge in the right direction. I tried Molly's pin for instructions but the link takes me to an inactive site.
Molly B. Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:38 PM Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:38 PM Cannot use updated JAVA. You need Java 7 update 67.
KarlJ Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:41 PM Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:41 PM Could it be firewall or other settings in your PC? I did Java update in my PC and still couldnt access the site but it worked from my wife's pc. Still don't know why though, just glad I had a different PC to try bit from
tkroenlein Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:46 PM Posted October 28, 2014 at 10:46 PM Cannot use updated JAVA. You need Java 7 update 67. Yup. Install java from the state link. Turn pop up blockers off. If that fails, switch browsers.
GWBH Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:02 AM Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:02 AM I had some issues, but swinging a dead chicken around my head three times while chanting "ISP, ISP" worked for me. Seriously - keep posting until you get through the process. There are some very talented folks here.

I found that out when I updated my Java and found out I could no longer check my status. I had to delete Java, then do a google search for Java 7 update 67, load that version, and everything on the ISP site worked just fine. Hang in there it's worth it in the end!

lostspring Posted October 29, 2014 at 11:16 AM Author Posted October 29, 2014 at 11:16 AM I am ready to start swinging the dead chicken. I cant fine a site that will let me load the older version of java. I loaded the one from the state site but still a no go. I have tried with both browsers. cant believe I am having this much trouble.

InterestedBystander Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:07 PM Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:07 PM Be patient and give the javs applet time to download and start before clicking to move on to next page. Iget a pop up console letting me know it has initialized
lostspring Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:21 PM Author Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:21 PM I go to the digital id page. It says something like asking to run if you get this. There is a place to check to allow but it will not let me check it. I have left this page up for a long time with no results. Maybe a chicken in both hands would work?
lostspring Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:22 PM Author Posted October 29, 2014 at 12:22 PM What is strange is that I can go to the out of state side and proceed.
KarlJ Posted October 29, 2014 at 05:11 PM Posted October 29, 2014 at 05:11 PM I hate to be cynical and I know the relationship between Illinoiscarry and the ISP has been positive, but the whole Java thing seems like an unnecessary hurdle in the online app. There has to be a better, more user friendly way?

But one of the cronies of a powerful politician knew how to program Java and needed a state job.
BC1 Posted October 30, 2014 at 02:06 AM Posted October 30, 2014 at 02:06 AM I think ISP may have been working on this. There is another thread here titled Can't Log into ISP CCL site that addressed some of these issues.I had this same problem with my Windows 8 laptop when it updated windows and Java to 8 u25 a week or so ago.I tried going back to 7 u67 and it would still not work but did when I went to 7 u71.Then Windows updated my system to 8.1 two days ago and it initially worked for the ISP CCL site but then stopped.Today I had more issues logging on with both my Win 7 and Win 8.1 laptops.I had tried several things that did not work and ended up rebooting both laptops and the Win 7 started working first and later the Win 8.1 ran more updates and started working also. The web site before did not like IE 11 or Chrome but like I said, it is working now with IE 11 and Java 7 u71.Not going to try updating Java to 8 u25 yet anyway. When I log on to the ISP web site I always get on and off ASAP because if you read what the Java popup says it tells you that you are giving them full access to your computer files and controls like the web cam.If you need the link to get Java 7 u71 go to the other forum and use the link posted after mine it will work. The one I posted did not copy right and will give an error.
