My license was in my mail today!

Recommended Posts

Well I finally went to QC Verified at day 107.

Question: Does this likely mean no LEO agencies have entered an objection

by now?

It means someone verified your info to make sure you filled the application out correctly.

Also this is a good thread for discussing waiting, status, etc:

What I meant was, do LEO agencies begin to assess if your application is objection worthy from the moment it is submitted or at the point QC verification takes place?

Based on Mollys posts, the LE 30 day window does not begin until the applicant passes the background check which is done first. By doing so they do not spend time on someone who does not qualify.

My apologies if this post is in the wrong section but I need to vent about this process.

Had I known how exasperating it would be to obtain a CCL in this state I probably wouldn't have

bothered, knowing I will be moving far away in a year or two.

Although I went Active on 3/29 I still haven't received my license, which puts me over 121 days.

That's just under 1/3 of an entire year. I realize there are others who are well into their second year

of waiting but it is still shameful and reaches banana republic levels of incompetence and corruption

in our age of technology.

So I have to ask out loud. If it takes the state 1/3 of a year to vet a natural born law abiding citizen, whose kindergarten

records are probably on file somewhere, by what mysterious means does this same government of ours vet

refugees with no documentation whatsoever in a matter of days?

I've watched enough COPS episodes to know that if someone is pulled over a 30 second check on the computer

will reveal someone's arrest history or outstanding warrants.

I realize it's been made difficult on purpose by the likes of Mike Madigan, John Cullerton and Rahm Emanuel in order to discourage people from exercising their rights. I don't think I will ever comprehend the mentality of a person who enters a voting booth and elects such scum.

Unless it's been lost in the mail by that other incompetent agency the Post Office, I will probably have it in hand by the end of the week.

In the meantime I want to thank everyone here for their input and for defending our sacred rights.

Agreed they make you wait because they can. Not because they need to.

Same thing happened to me. I was expecting my CCL in the mail today as I went active on 3/26/2017 and instead received a new FOID card.

I didn't even apply for a new FOID as my old one is good until 2022. I did notice the number is different.

Can someone explain what's going on?

You CCL number is now also the same as your FOID number, so a new FIOD, but with the old expiration date has been issued. If you look at ISPF website you will see both numbers are now the same.
