  1. Yep. They threw the book at him. Gave him 60 days in jail. Daley nephew Vanecko guilty in Koschman death, gets 60 days | The Killing of David Koschman (suntimes.com)
  2. We all watch Mark Smith's videos. It's ok to directly answer a question.
  3. If a weapon is in common use for self defense then the burden shifts to the state. It's the Bruen methodology. Sotomayor already conceded this point so I'm not sure why they're fighting it. Maybe to slow things down.
  4. I wish someone would raise these amicus briefs next time one of these states asks for an extension because they're too busy.
  5. Technically, they could just say that to the arresting officer. Oh, you're taking the 5th? We can't try you. No point in arresting you.
  6. "I had the right to remain silent but not the ability" - Tater Salad Here we're talking about your presence in court being incriminating. You can't invoke the 5th to avoid a trial.

  11. They don't mention his age but allowing military age males that have snuck into your country to go about armed hasn't worked out any time it's been tried. From the Trojan Horse to Russia's little green men in Ukraine it's proven to be trouble.
  12. It's a phrase that tends to be spoken by people who end up bankrupting their families and getting locked up with the very people they sought to protect themselves from.
  13. This reminds me of when the marines tested ai. They had some sort of device that could detect humans and dared some marines to beat it. They got inside boxes to hide their human shape and went right up to the things. Suspect you'll see a lot of people getting robbed with McDonald's to go bags on the cta soon.
  14. Weird. I carry one of these:
  15. They are probably using something like this: Create a dataset for training video classification models | Vertex AI | Google Cloud AI is very very good at playing Where's Waldo. You train it with images of firearms from the internet and it will find them in any picture (frame of video) you give it. I suspect that this system will give itself away by the lighting it requires unless they use really really expensive cameras.
  16. I can't wait to see their reaction. Like kids at Christmas I tell ya.
  17. It was justified. They had a recall.
  18. Just wait until they get boats over there.
