  4. The state is going to screw some people before the federal courts eventually slap them down. That's not new. There's always at least one thread going where someone is fighting the crown's secret committee just to get a FOID.
  5. The weapons at the heart of this case are dangerous but not unusual. They are precisely the sort of weapons that a newly freed slave would have needed to defend themselves from the KKK. As I read the ruling, the court is saying everything is legal unless it is both dangerous and unusual (i.e. nuclear weapons) and most attempts to disarm must be done at the individual level through the courts with full due process.
  6. They should just staple that to the FOID challenge. The whole FOID/CCL secret court can't survive this. The fact that FOID strips people of their rights by default and then you have to buy them back does not survive this.

  8. Chad @ SOTAR just released 3 videos tearing apart and checking 2 PSA uppers. It was interesting to see. They did a lot better than some better regarded brands.
  9. There is no remedy under the law other than to eventually make them stop. Qualified immunity is going to be the next big hurdle in the gun rights war.
  10. You have to watch the whole video to understand what got him so upset. He opened the video by saying bumpstocks convert semiautomatic rifles into machine guns. Todd had just said he was wrong and called him a gun controller.

  12. Yep, I'm convinced Chevron is going down. Alito saying Congress has to make the rules means Chevron is dead. Don't throw Alito under the bus for taunting the gun controllers with the votes they don't have.
  13. I can't help but wonder if that was more about the Chevron deference case. Not sure if he his spiking or swiping though. Kind of makes me wonder how that one will go.
  14. Yep, Alito hit that in his concurrence. "There is a simple remedy for the disparate treatment of bump stocks and machineguns. Congress can amend the law—and perhaps would have done so already if ATF had stuck with its earlier interpretation. Now that the situation is clear, Congress can act."
  15. In Garland v. Cargill, the court rules that a bumpstock does not convert a rifle into a machinegun and cannot be restricted as such.

  17. Right, I don't think a normal person's laptop would be valuable in any way beyond reimaging the hard drive and using the machine as your own.
