Calls, Emails, and Witness Slips Needed for HB0997 Right to Carry

and Other Firearm Related Bills

 

Right to Carry bill HB0997 and other firearm related bills have been scheduled to be heard in the Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at 8:30AM in Stratton Building Room C-1, Springfield, IL.

 

Voice your support or opposition to the proposed legislation, be sure to file a witness slip for each of the following:

 

HB0132 Firearm Ban – witness slip - opponent

HB0154 Concealed Carry-Firearms - witness slip proponent

HB0159 Firearm Lost or Stolen - witness slip opponent

HB0997 Concealed Carry - witness slip proponent

HB1008 No Extra Tax on guns/ammo - witness slip proponent

HB1023 Firearm Training Preemption - witness slip proponent

HB1024 Firearm Preemption - witness slip proponent

HB1025 Carry in Schools for Teachers - witness slip proponent

HB1027 No Waiting Period for Firearm Trade - witness slip proponent

HB1050 Firearm Owner Keep Records 5 yrs. - witness slip proponent

HB1051 Firearm Transport Preemption - witness slip proponent

HB1143 Bans Private Sale of Firearms - witness slip opponent

 

Instructions to file witness slips:

I. Indentification - Fill in personal information, for firm/business/agency and title enter NA unless you are representing someone else.

II. If you are representing only yourself, enter NA

III. If you support the bill, mark proponent. If you oppose the bill, mark opponent. (DO NOT USE THE ARROW KEYS, that could change your vote. Use the scroll bars to navigate around the page.

IV. Mark "record of appearance only" unless you plan to be present and give oral or written testimony

Type in the code, check terms of agreement circle, click on "create slip"

Witness slips. Tedious, but done.

 

Firefox autocomplete helps in filling them out.

 

Tabbed browsing helps. Open all "proponent" slips n new tabs, and remember to tag off "proponent" for them. Then do "opponent" slips. Helps keep them straight.

Slips filed......Thanks a ton for having these all organized and linked Molly B......being able to start at the top of the list and go to the bottom was a lot easier than tryin to track things down on different threads and remember what I had and hadn't done yet.....

Using the REGISTRATION link on the left side of the Witness Slip page really helps.

1. Register

2. Confirm Email

3. Go to My ILGA and edit your profile

4. Create Witness Slips FAST....and have the ability to review them as well.

I've tried that but when signed in the Capcha caption doesn't load. If someone has a workaround that would be great.

Done, Capcha is terrible...

 

Once you're registered and logged in, there's no more capcha and everything is already filled in. You specify opponent or proponent, record of appearance, and submit...
