Tvandermyde Posted January 4, 2013 at 08:55 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 08:55 PM Rep Acevedo has filed an amendment to SB-2899 to gut it and make it a semi-auto ban. The range language from the Senate versions has been removed. But it is as bad as the Senate versions with some more twisted things in it. Please don't make very detailed analisys on public posts here as we don't need to educate them about their own bill.

abolt243 Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:06 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:06 PM Calling my representative now. I assume they use witness slips as well? Yes, but it doesn't appear that the system has caught up yet and will accept witness slips. It may be tomorrow or Sunday before we can file them. We'll try to post a new thread when we can do that.
miztic Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:10 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:10 PM I can't believe how many bills they are sacrificing in this war, I'm sure a lot of people worked hard on those before they got gutted. edit: that being said, I can't find the new amendment? I'm only seeing the original text on the site..edit2: found it in another thread
Hatchet Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:10 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:10 PM Calling my representative now. I assume they use witness slips as well? So i'm guess that isnt the new amendment that slip is for. That's only for the original bill?

True, the amendment has not yet been assigned to a committee so we can't file witness slips for the amendment that turns this bill into a AWB. We will keep watch, as soon as it become functional, it will go into a new thread.
Hatchet Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:18 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:18 PM Gotcha thanks abolt... I dont care what everyone else says about you. Your a good guy.
abolt243 Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:18 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:18 PM Let me make that clearer. It has been assigned to Rules, they will assign it to another committee to have a hearing on the amendment. It may be Jud I, it may be a different one. Stand by
abolt243 Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:20 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:20 PM Gotcha thanks abolt... I dont care what everyone else says about you. Your a good guy. Thanks hatchet, and as you might be able to tell, I don't care what they think about me either. I just want to beat back the Chicago politicians, get them out of my life, and pass a good carry law in Illinois. If I tick a few people off in the process, sorry. Thanks for the kind words. Tim
xmikex Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:24 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:24 PM Thanks for the updates - spreading the word.

What a rude b*itch. God I hate Chicago. That would cause me to walk every street in her district prior to the next election and do everything in my power to defeat her!! Any rep that won't listen to a constituent's concerns and position does not deserve the title.
RockerXX Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:35 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:35 PM Just was told by Ann Wiliam's to save my breath. What a rude b*itch. I would call her back and remind her of the 1st and her sworn oath to uphold the Constitution both in regards to the 1st and 2nd... Even if she is firm in her position she has the duty to listen to the people she represents even if she doesn't like what they have to say...

This should be a sticky or posted above the reply box or something. Knowing the other side is watching, I sometimes cringe at the stuff people post. Do not help them write a "better" bill!

bobn Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:53 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:53 PM Thanks for the clear update, I was able to call my Rep's office with this - I called earlier in the day w/o the bill number and they weren't sure what I was talking about.

What a rude b*itch. God I hate Chicago. Let's all phone and email bomb her at once. (that's a figurative "bomb", no violence intended or implied) Do you suppose we could get away with recording a phone conversation with her replying like that? If the court ruled that police can be recorded, she's just another public *cough!* servant *cough!*. I think she just made herself the first subject of my campaign to fight non-gun bills of anti representatives!

Of course. Right to kill the unborn - yay! Right to self-defense: no way. I HATE LIBERALS.
Yas Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:57 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:57 PM You would think she would choose to support a woman's choice if that woman decides to not be an easy victim.
pyre400 Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:58 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 09:58 PM Is one of the bills on abortion? Come on, not the time or the place guys. There's plenty of time to change minds on that topic later.

KarlJ Posted January 4, 2013 at 10:03 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 10:03 PM My reps. Secretary called me back. She said they have been swamped with calls opposing this bill. She said word is moving through the ranks that there is a lot of opposition.
Mr. Fife Posted January 4, 2013 at 10:05 PM Posted January 4, 2013 at 10:05 PM Acevedo is such a ***** ***. Just for the record.
