Seven people died in traffic accident in Illinois, alone. President Trump and several governors have done this during their terms also. Our flag is a special symbol for the nation, not some political banner to be moved to gain political points. He barely had time to greet the plane bringing their bodies home for burial! Kept looking at his watch, because he was bored and wasn’t interested in this ceremonial. But he orders the flag to be flown half-staff for victims of a mentally deranged 21 year old kid because he used a gun to commit his crime. THIS fits his agenda. What a piece of work! How ironic is it for Highland Park to celebrate Independence Day? Where Constitutional Rights are shredded to "do something" and merchants were strong-armed by IL Rep Scott Drury to post Gun Free Zone stickers. Where U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider and Mayor Rotering gave Memorial Day 2021 speeches in HP while ignoring the Fort Sheridan veterans cemetery 10 minutes to the north. Where the Holocaust haunts HPs residents, but they vote for every 2nd Amendment and due process infringement that comes along. Where arrogant "me first" drivers run stop signs if your car is not class worthy. Where your ankles or car doors will get bashed by grocery carts. Where every life transaction (e.g. at the Post Office) is problematic. We avoided HP religiously before. RIP to the innocent victims - and a different salute to the frauds the town elects.
