bstuby Posted March 13, 2016 at 09:54 PM Share Posted March 13, 2016 at 09:54 PM So, if a person has their letter saying their foid was approved and lists their new number on it, can they do face to face transfers? Letter is dated 2/15/16, with new number, but has yet to receive their card. When running the number and DOB on ISP website it comes back approved. It was my understanding that they must have a card in their possession correct?
Rmac702 Posted March 13, 2016 at 10:38 PM Share Posted March 13, 2016 at 10:38 PM It's my understanding that the buyer has to produce their FOID card during the initial contact and again after the waiting period.
bstuby Posted March 13, 2016 at 11:00 PM Share Posted March 13, 2016 at 11:00 PM That's the way I've always done it. Show proof of foid, run it on ISP website, get approval, wait, then show card again at time of pickup. This is the first time I've encountered something like this, so I was a little leery of going through with the transaction. He did take a picture of his DL next to the approval letter, but I still don't feel comfortable doing it. Been awhile since I've been on this forum and figured ISP was delaying approvals again. From the way people are talking in this thread, his should be in shortly hopefully. He will just have to wait until his card comes in.

It may not even be their own FOID number. He needs to be calling someone because a month has gone by with no new card and they just ran a big batch recently. They don't start processing until you pay and they have 30 days to approve or deny upon receipt of payment. Velasquez Posted March 24, 2016 at 01:13 PM Share Posted March 24, 2016 at 01:13 PM Thanks for the info. I've read reviews of isp delaying on applications. Is it stilll an issue?
Cerus Posted March 24, 2016 at 02:08 PM Share Posted March 24, 2016 at 02:08 PM I haven't really heard of any intentional delays on FOID cards lately. They will tell ya they're are backed up, behind etc if you call but you can always put in a call to your local rep if it goes beyond the 30 days. sancenG19 Posted March 24, 2016 at 10:41 PM Share Posted March 24, 2016 at 10:41 PM Did a change of address on my FOID back on 2/8/16. It changed from under review to active today. Now, i'm just waiting on my ccl to go live. I'm on day 45 so unfortunately lots of time left.
Zeno72 Posted April 19, 2016 at 07:33 PM Share Posted April 19, 2016 at 07:33 PM I received my FOID yesterday, applied for it March 14th. I am new here to the boards BTW, first time I have ever lived in a state that required a FOID. I grew up in AZ where getting a firearm took 15 minutes and open carry was the norm. BeardswithoutOperators Posted June 17, 2016 at 01:48 PM Share Posted June 17, 2016 at 01:48 PM I applied 5/18/16 and went active 6/09/16. Still waiting on my card in the mail though 8 days later (7 business days), what's the time frame on these things coming in?
kdfederer Posted June 17, 2016 at 04:26 PM Share Posted June 17, 2016 at 04:26 PM Once they go active, they go to the printer. Then they save them up to mail in bulk. Depending on when yours went active during the process, it could be anywhere from 2 or 3 days after going active, to several weeks.

I signed up for the NRA, so I'm waiting for my new magazine and "free" carry bag that came with membership. I was hoping to stagger my gifts like Chanukah, but my luck as of late has had me get everything at one time like Christmas Once they go active, they go to the printer. kdfederer Posted June 22, 2016 at 12:42 PM Share Posted June 22, 2016 at 12:42 PM I ended up contacting the NRA about my bag for joining asking when I would get it. They said they were out because of the demand. They finally sent it. Mine took about 4 months. Maybe you need to contact them.
BeardswithoutOperators Posted June 22, 2016 at 01:29 PM Share Posted June 22, 2016 at 01:29 PM The site said it will be here likely in 4-8 weeks due to high demand or high sign up rate.
Bubbacs Posted June 23, 2016 at 02:56 AM Share Posted June 23, 2016 at 02:56 AM Not a biggie, it's not like it will actually be a range bag! But with the NRA not anticipating a huge onslaught of support and new members, you gotta ask, what did they think in an election year with Scarillary running? BeardswithoutOperators Posted June 24, 2016 at 09:31 PM Share Posted June 24, 2016 at 09:31 PM Anyone got theirs yet from the latest batch? It's been over 2 weeks not counting Sundays since my card went active, yet not in the mail. I know that they say 30 days to go active, but it's misleading because it seems they aren't releasing the FOID cards for quite some time. Feels like a block to our given rights. mrr Posted June 24, 2016 at 11:56 PM Share Posted June 24, 2016 at 11:56 PM Still haven't got mine, been active for over two weeks now. I've read about "problems with the printer" and stuff earlier in the CCL thread, so I'm wondering if there's something like that going on. Someone in an earlier thread called and was told it's "14 business days" from when it's turned active, so that's next week sometime for me

mrr Posted June 27, 2016 at 03:59 PM Share Posted June 27, 2016 at 03:59 PM I sent the ISP a message through their website today. I've gotten quick, useful responses through the 'Contact the FOID Card Administrator' section before. It's been over 30 days since I applied, which is an option. I'm sure they'll just tell me there's delays printing or whatever - but maybe I can get a timeline.
