  4. We've come a long way! Back in the day I found that an IL, FL, and UT license gave an Illinois resident the best coverage. My FL is due for renewal and I let my UT lapse. Does anyone know the best combination today for maximum coverage?
  5. Let's start a new thread at 40.
  6. This was at Cabela's, they make up their own rules.
  7. Dang, I'll have to leave these four at home then.
  8. I would not do that. I had packing tape over my old style Foid, I had my CCW Safe phone number taped to the back of it. I used it to purchase a gun and it was fine for calling in to the NICS check. But when I came to pick up my purchase 3 days later, they said Foid cards cannot be laminated, it makes them invalid, and the tape covered front and back. It also was holding the card together, so I didn't see the harm.Whether it's true or not I'm not sure, but I used my CCL instead and they allowed me to pick up my purchase.
  9. Attorney Joel Brodsky suspended from federal court in Chicago for a year for bizarre antics https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-attorney-joel-brodsky-barred-federal-court-20190418-story.html
  10. The feds don't charge for an amateur radio license. Any fees are for the test and are charged by a Volunteer Examiner Coordinator. Find a VEC who will do it for free, and you're good to go. I'm not sure about other radio licenses though.
  11. Seeing how a CCL can be used in place of a FOID, I think if I ever lost my FOID card I would just keep quiet and wait out the 10 years, hoping it turns up in the mean time.
  12. Papa is 97? That explains a lot :-)'
