russ60477 Posted January 7, 2022 at 03:14 AM Posted January 7, 2022 at 03:14 AM Looking for a gunsmith or hobbyist in the orland park/ tinley park area that could install new sights on my glock19. What is the going rate to have this service done? And do most do it as you wait , or drop and come back days later?
Bubbacs Posted January 7, 2022 at 04:02 AM Posted January 7, 2022 at 04:02 AM It has been my experience that when buying from the same place it’s either free or 10 to 15 dollars. most have done while I wait if they’re not too busy. i use that place no one likes......
lawman Posted January 7, 2022 at 04:56 AM Posted January 7, 2022 at 04:56 AM Glock sights are actually pretty easy to do yourself. No sight pusher needed. Block of wood, hammer, and C clamp and you are set. I've done several. There should be videos readily available to show you how. The front sight requires a special tool (about $10) or you can grind down a cheap nut runner or socket to fit the set screw. I'm nowhere near you or I would probably volunteer.
russ60477 Posted January 9, 2022 at 02:48 AM Author Posted January 9, 2022 at 02:48 AM Thank you for the replies. I bought some meprolights from Eagle sports in Oak Forest and it was only 25 dollars to install since I bought the sights from them
illinois_buckeye Posted January 10, 2022 at 05:47 PM Posted January 10, 2022 at 05:47 PM I’m down state, but my local range I think they charge 25 to install new sights.
